vivaldi doesn't warm start
-
Vivaldi always cold start whenever I reopen it.
I enabled background running but it starts slow like it starting from cold boot.
other chromium based browsers (chrome, chromium, yandex, opera) warm starts properly and opens in a second.Distribution: Arch Linux x86_64

The developers probably haven't noticed this issue. When using a fast enough computer, it's difficult to notice any difference in start-up time.
-
@kumiponi - I like my apps to start from cold. I don't like bits of them hanging around in memory if I can help it.
-
@Ayespy you may don't like it but I wish there is a option to turn on and off warm start.
I don't want to sound rude but let me a question, are you guys building browser for your personal use or for the people? -
@arun123 - I'm not building a browser at all. I'm a volunteer on the forums and volunteer internal tester. Vivaldi is building a browser "for our friends," not for the broadest public appeal (lowest common denominator) like the "Big 3." Not for the incurious and intellectually lazy mass user. The emphases are to be configurability (meaning that options like the one you want are almost sure to be considered sooner or later), feature-richness, and power to accomplish a wide range of all different kinds of work.
Speed and resource thrift are considerations, but secondary considerations (and being resident in memory = speed, but is the opposite of resource thrift), which will ultimately be addressed after a basic suite of features and options are built in. And the fact that there will be many features built in, means that few (or no) extensions will be needed by most people, which will result in both resource thrift AND speed. So there is a method to the madness, the first step of that method being creating a browser that will restore the abandoned legacy of the complexity and feature-richness of the original Opera, the loss of which is still mourned by millions of users ("our friends").

@Ayespy Vivaldi is building a browser "for our friends"?
you voiced your personal opinion. isn't?
'I like my apps to start from cold. I don't like bits of them hanging around in memory if I can help it' what I am asking is let users choose their features if you feel Vivaldi browser is for friends. -
@arun123 - Yes. I stated my personal opinion. It's just my opinion.
And, quoting myself above: "The emphases are to be configurability (meaning that options like the one you want are almost sure to be considered sooner or later)..."
Then I also provided some more context.
