Poor bookmark bar functionality: Favicons very blurry, most won't load
-
Favicons in bookmarks bar are very blurry / low resolution. Makes the browser feel like it's the 90s. Most of them won't load, even after quite a long wait, and visiting those sites.
-
Mine are crisp, and load instantly. Maybe it's a Mac problem. The blurriness a screen res problem? I know that some resolutions are problematic for Vivaldi right now - like if in windows, a person has their display size set to 150%.
-
I don't know if it's a resolution problem but it's kind of strange because the favicon is in perfect HD. For example, here's what the reddit favicon looks like and how the bookmark icon looks:

Have you altered the zoom on your UI?
-
Nope, in fact I just discovered that you can change the UI zoom. It's at 100%.

Well, I have a couple of vague theories, but I can't explain it. Nothing like this is seen on my Win 10 system with its 1920 X 1080 24" monitor.

This is infuriating me as well, especially because on the whole, Vivaldi has very good DPI scaling.
I assume what's happening here is that the favicon cache for bookmarks only stores the 16x16 while the favicon display in the tab is uncached and correctly displays 32x32.
I'm trying to figure out if it's something you can fix in the JS spaghetti, but i'm not hopeful so far.

Any news on the issue? I just tried the latest snapshot and the problem is still there

Looks really blurry (at least on a retina display), obviously not fixed yet.
