Zoom responsiveness
-
Hey, I've been an Opera desktop user for well over 10 years and always sung its praises ; I can't believe a friend had to tell me about Vivaldi, how did it slip me by? Anyway, I'm really enjoying it so far and it's nice to see so many features and options so early on. The only thing that's bugging me is zooming in and out,. It seems so slow and unresponsive compared to Opera 'next' but I understand it's early days. Anyway, I hope you see this as a positive from a long time user, this is the only problem that leaps out at me and I can't wait for it to be smoothed out, unless I'm missing something - good work - and my only requestion - so far thank you

I am glad that you found Vivaldi — it's not well advertised, but I am doing my bit to help promote it.

There are a few of us Serif users who knew and loved the old Opera.
I agree that the zoom is not as responsive as in Opera. You could try the 64-bit version, which is generally a bit faster. The zoom slider on the status line doesn't respond at all until you release the mouse, but it's the fastest way to zoom by a large amount. I requested an improvement to make it vertical for easier control .
I use the mouse-wheel for zooming rather than the keyboard or the slider.

Hey, thanks for your response. I've always used CTRL + mouse wheel too.
Silly me didn't download the 64bit version, although I see it's experiement, thanks for bringing that to my attention.
