Latest update even more broken
-
I've been experiencing small problems with vivaldi since a long time. Such as image urls (example.com/image.png) and rarely normal webpages presenting a blank screen after loading. But that didn't always happen and because I liked vivaldi I kept using it hoping that it will get fixed. I updated at version 1.3.551.37 hoping that it will be fixed. Only to be greeted with the same problem a lot more frequently. Now I have yet to see an image to open correctly (again I'm talking about the files not images withing a webpage) and also normal pages being blank became a lot more frequent. I waited for the current version 1.3.582.3. But after installing not only was the above problem not fixed but now all youtube videos (sometimes some videos on lower resolution play but not always), twitter and facebook videos do not load. I will post screenshots with the problem bellow. Note this is not a problem with all HTML5 players since I have managed to watch 720p videos on other websites. Blank images, happens on every image. Just google something and open the first image you see on a new tab Error on youtube videos (this get's fixed if I change quality -to anything- and refresh but it happens on every video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6NRLYUThrY Error on facebook videos (says "Something went wrong. We could not playback the video") Error on twitter. (I simply see an image, no video is playing) All the above work on all my other browsers (chrome, firefox, microsoft edge). I'm using an i7 4770, a radeon HD 7870 GPU, 8gigs of DDR3 RAM @1600Mhz. To solve the above problems I tried: [ul] [li]Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration [/li] [li]Reseting the browser[/li] [li]Disabling and removing all addons[/li] [/ul]

Obviously I'm lucky, I read daily all kinds of problems with Vivaldi I don't have at all, I see YouTube videos on any resolution, even in fullscreen, equally all media uploaded to Twitter (Facebook I don't know, because not use it) and apart some death birdy in Stumble sometimes, I have no complaints that I can submit, works fast and fine (Windows 7 on an old laptop Acer (8 years), nVidia 9600GT 1Gb and I have installed the v.1.3.551.38 with 11 extensions).
Some incompatibility with the grafic driver? Maybe updating them can solve the problem :S -
No problems for me either: Vivaldi 32-bit on Windows 10 Anniversary Edition, 64-bit.
Check your HTML5 Settings
-
Will try updating the drivers (even though I think windows 10 does it automatically) and checking the HTML5 settings.
Also some info that I forgot posting above:
I am using the 32bit version of vivaldi on Windows 10 64bit.
Furthermore I would like to mention that when an blank image loads, before it turns blank I can see the image flashing for a frame and then it turns blank as normal.EDIT:
HTML5 settings seem okEDIT2:
GPU drivers are the latest ones too. -

I downloaded the 64bit version of vivaldi will try reinstalling with that. Maybe the 64bits will help :S
-
I installed the latest 64bit version. For now it seems to be working I will post if I get the same problem. Thank you for your help/suggestions.
EDIT:
I do not want to one man spam here so an update. Youtube videos are still playing (most likely because 64bit vivaldi is still at version 1.3.551.38) but after a bit of use the blank image problem is back. I hope this edit gets noticed. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to share them. I hope this bug gets addressed, it's really frustrating. -
I also have all the problems described in first post. I'll try reinstalling
EDIT: I had no luck with reinstalling, everything is the same

Did you ever refresh your profile?
-
Yup. That "resetting browser" I mentioned was actually a wrong way to word "resetting/refreshing profile".
Even without copying the bookmarks and the rest from the old folder I still had the same problems.

Same here

One of our testers turned himself (and his PC) inside out yesterday trying to find a configuration or settings in system or browser that could replicate this bug, and was unable. Videos continued to play without problems, under all conditions.
This is the kind of thing that makes developers' hair stand on end. In fact, if my count is anywhere near accurate, there are probably eighty people with backstage access who can bring up, test, discuss such things with the developers, and none report video problems.
-
If there are any logs I can share please let me know. Also I could try providing videos of the problem occurring although I doubt they'll be of much help.
-
I'm wondering… if you did a stand-alone install of Vivaldi and it exhibited the same problems, it should be possible to export a zip or rollup file of that entire standalone installation to Vivaldi (assuming they're willing and able to accept it). In that case, they could replicate your Vivaldi installation, exclusive of any extensions or passwords. That would tend either to confirm a problem in the Vivaldi installation itself or else imply the problem was related to your unique system (drivers, codecs, hardware, etc) or Vivaldi extensions. It's just a thought...

Regarding the blank page bug I found a log file with some errors in the vivaldi installation folder. I'm not sure if they were produced during installation or execution but here they are

If what blackbird said could help I could zip the entire installation folder and upload it if needed. -
This isn't meant as a bump but as an update to help developers locate the issue.
I have noticed that the blank page problem usually happens when opening links in a new tab. For example I see a linked image in twitch chat. If I click it, a blank page opens (even though the page has actually loaded -in case of videos I can even hear the video play in the background, but all I see is a blank page-), however if I copy the url and paste it in a new tab it works.
Hope this was helpful.
