Integrate Adblock Plus into Vivaldi…
-
maxthon is a powerful web browser like vivaldi. maxthon has integrated adblock plus and it works great right out of the box. would be great if vivaldi can have that kind of seemless integration.
-
I must be missing something - the extensions provide choice, integration would be a waste of resources given that both function just fine as extensions ?

Yes, Maxthon is a good browser, but not because of the installed adblocker.

I think Vivaldi should build it's own ad-blocker natively in the browser turned off by default, and you can turn it on if you'd like. That's how Opera does it, and that seems to be the best solution. I know Jon said something about not getting in the way of advertisers and the open web, but a lot of people want ad-blocking, and when it comes to Vivaldi, they want it natively. So it should be added in Vivaldi but turned off by default.
Oh, and Maxthon? They send sensitive data to China: http://www.securityweek.com/maxthon-browser-sends-sensitive-data-china

And Chrome, Microsoft, Fakebook,etc?
I think that rather than integrate an extension in Vivaldi, would be that had its own store with the best extensions

Yes, Chrome sends info to NSA. I'm not singling out Maxthon, but it sends it to China. I'm definitely not trusting of that, nor am I of Chrome. And Microsoft is an OS, which does the same, and Facebook is a website, which does the same. I'm talking about browsers in general here.

it would be most convenient if vivaldi can seemlessly integrate the current best ad blocker. it can then be toggled on/off if the user chooses to use something else.

It does not matter which browser you use, anyway if information is sent from the search engine (Google, Bing) and social network you use

Well, there are things you can do about it if you don't like it. There's uBlock Origin, other extensions to block 3rd party scripts, you don't have to use Facebook, you can use DDG and not Bing or Google, you can use Spybot Anti-Beacon to remove Microsoft spying on you in Windows, etc. A whole bunch of things you can do about something you don't like. Anyway . . .

Sure you can do, I just wanted to clarify that not use either browser because spy why is meaningless today. The best protection is to navigate using your head and not publish private data unnecessarily

And Mozilla added Lightening to Thunderbird by default, and no matter what those of us that hate it do, it keeps coming back, adding itself back in and re-enabling itself every few updates. These type of choices are best left to the users to figure out. Ad-blockers are hardly rocket science to add these days.
If Google blacklists them from the Chrome store, then it is a different argument.

The new wave of web development is defeating adblockers. With no ad impressions, the websites cannot afford content. So the current trend is to work out ways to either circumvent adblockers, or to prevent users from loading the page unless they turn off their adblocker. This is a really bad time to initiate the process of building an adblocker in to a fledgling web browser.

Hahahahaha, OK, what's inside, although sometimes I prefer to hit my head against the wall and not against the keyboard

Google from the coming year will penalize websites with too much annoying popups

Will Google penalize facebook? They will be the first ones to make adblockers useless.
