Ctrl + Click - Open link in new tab (background)
-
Hello! I'm new to Vivaldi so this could be a n00b question! I can't get Ctrl + Click to work correctly -- When I do this a new tab opens in the background AND the current tab goes to the link as well! I don't want to go back to Chrome after just an hour, please help  Thanks! Dangermouse

I'm unable to replicate this behavior.
What is your version number and your platform?

Hi Ayespy, thanks for replying!
I'm on version: 1.3.551.30 (Stable channel) (32-bit)
I'm using Windows 7 pro, service pack 1.
Let me know if you need anything else

OK. Fired up a Win7Pro machine. Can't get it to do it. Perhaps there's a specific website or specific kind of link? I DID get it to do it a couple of times on links that were merely re-positioning on a page. Browser made a new background tab and also moved down the page. That's it.

Try right-clicking the link and choosing 'Open in Background Tab'.

I think user is trying to avoid using the mouse - just use the keyboard.
Another thought - have any extensions been installed yet?
-
I'm just thinking by trying using the mouse a discrepancy could be uncovered. For example when I close tabs using the keyboard the tab-expanding issue doesn't happen. If I close the tab using the mouse the tabs expand out the end of the row. I'm curious if he has the same result if he tries opening the tab using an alternate method.

I see.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your replies and ideas! I tried it with some different websites this morning with no problem - Doesn't seem to be happening now which is great, but frustrating??
g_bartsh I was indeed trying to use keyboard to assist here, for my job I often need to open 20+ tabs quickly so ctrl + Click is much better on the arms!
I don't have any extensions installed that I know of, unless Vivaldi automatically installs chrome extensions. Doesn't look that way though.
Thanks for all of your help anyway, this seems to be resolved now (cue X files soundtrack),
