Hello marshalll
I have the same problem to, and I dont find any information about this problem, only your message.
Did you fix the problem? -
There was a discussion in the extensions forum
https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/extensions/10642-google-keep-extensionGuess it (still) doesn't work?
-
TbGbe thank you very much for link to conversation.
i think need write custom "bicycle" for google keep.
But…
I remember how Google kill Google Reader, and it was so sad... -
So instead of fixing this, you rather support Philips Hue, I guess Philips pay bit, but a common computer user does not need this hue lighty thing, he needs his extensions... Where is the user-first approach you talk about so often about, can't see it here.

I found a few old threads about login problems and the Google Keep extension, PC and Mac, but nothing recent. In any case, this is still a problem in Vivaldi. In my case, latest Vivaldi/Win 7, but it seems like this is a problem for all versions and systems.
You can install the extension and you get the little lamp in the corner, but when you try to use it, Keep wants you to login and you end up on one of those classic Google login pages. When you enter your password, you get thrown to a white screen where nothing happens. I don't know if this is fixable in Vivaldi or if this extension is strictly Chrome forever, but it's a really nice extension, so why not bring it up at least.

You might want to look at Popup for Keep extension, it has (adds) right-click option.

@Gwen-Dragon
With all due respect!
Other than the fact that my "closed" post was made 10 months ago instead of the more recent one...
My previous post about Google Keep Chrome Extension
(https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-keep-chrome-extens/lpcaedmchfhocbbapmcbpinfpgnhiddi) -
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/7900/new-google-keep-chrome-extension-not-working-with-vivaldi
(not to be confused with Google Keep one) and that it should have perhaps been moved to the "incompatible" thread which (if my memory serves me well, did not exist at that time).
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/8129/list-of-incompatible-extensions -
I installed the extension and I would really like to use it, but after for my password and I click to log in is a blank page!

I had posted but now I found the answer! Thank you! - @Gwen-Dragon - Comment

Can not use google keep extension ... when the page is show messenge .. "please login to your Google account, fill it out after sending it just to get a blank page ...

@dasu88: Vivaldi, though it uses the Chromium engine, is NOT a Chrome knock-off browser, and cannot be logged in to sync to your Google account. For this reason, Google Keep Extension cannot work in Vivaldi until such time as it is made capable of being wired in to the Google borg.

When I try to save to Keep by right clicking it asks me to 'sign in to use google keep chrome extension'. When I click it I am taken to the website address vivaldi://chrome-signin/?access_point=6&reason=0 and it remains blank.

I haven't tried lately, but some Google extensions have never worked for me. As you experience, they fail at the login phase.
I also want to know whether this problem will be fixed or whether we just have to give it up (at least for the foreseeable future).

Thanks! That's interesting. It has never occurred to me that it's related to sync. But, I wonder whether Vivaldi can pretend to be a Google Chrome and use Google's infrastructure, whereas its own sync infrastructure shares only information that Google doesn't sync.

@ryofurue You have to realise this is Google's fault. They force you to browse with Chrome in order to have this extension work. Vivaldi cannot use Google's "infrastructure".

Do you mean that you need to use a secret (closed, proprietary) API to use Google's infrastructure? Or does Google actively detect what browser is accessing to them and specifically exclude everything except Google Chrome?
What I'm interested to know is not whose fault it is. I'd like to know what makes it impossible for Vivaldi to use Google's infrastructure. Or is it really impossible?
