Google CAPTCHA no longer working
-
I just upgraded to the new stable (1.3.551.30) from the old stable. When using Google web search, I often (many times each day) get taken to Google's CAPTCHA page to continue. This started happening one or two years ago, probably around the time I moved to Mexico. It never used to happen before. I have been unable to find out why it happens. But I still use Google, since I haven't found another search engine which is as complete. Since I updated Vivaldi, punching in Google's CAPTCHA no longer works. If I punch the correct text, i get taken to a completely white page with no URL and the title "Blank Page". Unlike an actual new blank page, there is no Speed Dial. Right clicking and choosing "Back" does work, and takes me back to the CAPTCHA page. This means that for me, Google doesn't work in Vivaldi. At all. It does work in other browsers. I have to drop Vivaldi until this is fixed.

There are several privacy settings that might have a bearing on this. Try changing "Ask websites not to track me" or "Broadcast IP."

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried both to no avail. This really seems like a bug in Vivaldi, a quite serious one too.

This blank page seem to appear in other circumstances, many including me have already filed some bugreports about Google, Yandex, lmgtfy.com, and other sites leading to a blank page instead of resolving the page it should actually go.

+1 here, I've had the same issue. I'm getting the Google CAPTCHA for no good reason, and when I submit it, I get a blank page. Switching to another browser using the same PC and connection, it works fine.
