Youtube videos go all black on fullscreen
-
Hoping to find some help with this odd issue. Just installed Vivaldi on a new system, and now whenever I try to take a Youtube video fullscreen, it goes black. I can still see the very edges of my desktop, as if the video were floating over top, but it's all black. The sound plays, and I can control play/pause by clicking, but the video is just a black screen. If I press F12, and bring up the debugger window, then behind it I can see the video. As soon as I close the debugger window, the video goes back to black. Anyone have any ideas whats causing this?

Are you using hardware acceleration?
Check vivaldi://gpuIf you are, you could try to DISable it
If you are not, you could try to ENable itOpen vivaldi://chrome/settings/search#hardware
"Use hardware acceleration"
Restart VivaldiOther than that, are ALL the boxes ticked on https://www.youtube.com/html5
They are for me

Could you provide full details of your OS and the Vivaldi version you installed (see File - Help - About)
Note: There have been some reports that the 32bit version of Vivaldi will work when 64bit does not. But I use the 64 bit version and do not have this problem

I can reproduce this behavior on 1.3.519.25 (Developer Build) (64-bit). Using Nvidia GPU.
And yes TbGBe is correct, disabling HW acceleration fixed the issues.Happens on both YT HTML5 and Flash player.
Should be reported as bug, I guess.

Be sure include full details (Vivaldi version, OS version and the GPU you are using).
Go to Bug Report
You will receive a reply email with the bug number VB-xxxx
and you can then reply to that with a link to this thread. However, the bug tracker is only available to Vivaldi and insiders, it is not publicly available. So the only way to know it has been solved is to check each Changelog as it appears.

Update.. looks like this bug is present only in external monitor setup. I suspect is related to nVidia Nview that I uses to manage multiple desktop. Recently upated my nVidia VGA driver and the issues is gone.
