I have to unpin them first before I can close them. The whole point of pinned tabs is that they can't accidentally be deleted. However, you can go to the "Tabs" heading in Settings and check the box that makes it possible to delete them.

What a peculiar complaint! This is a non-problem. For what other purpose than protecting against accidental closure do you imagine "pinning" exists?
To save space for heavy tab users.
I can close Pin Tabs in Chrome and Firefox. Why should I be restricted in Vivaldi? The context menu has the "Close Tab" option, but it doesn't work. I don't think it is a peculiar complaint at all. -

Thanks for your reply, but I can't seem to find that option.

As I said in my initial reply to you: "However, you can go to the "Tabs" heading in Settings and check the box that makes it possible to delete them."
In other words, the feature you want is present, if you will turn it on.

Yes, I do understand what you are saying there is an option in Tab settings, but I can't find it.
I'll keep looking. -

I'll keep looking. It's at the bottom under Tab Features, but you may have to upgrade Vivaldi. Features are constantly getting added with each release.

Thanks guys.
I found the setting.
Thanks to the posters who were helpful. -
To be clear:
In the main browser menu, go to Menu/Tools/Settings/Tabs/Tab Features/Pinned Tabs and select "Close as other tabs."
Edit: And as I was typing this, you found it, so Yaaaaaay!
