Are you able to stay logged in to Vivaldi.net?
-
I have two sites I stay logged-in to on a chronic basis: Gmail and Vivaldi.
To make it worse, I'm running my core sessions on my private and business "machines". Yes, it's not a killer, but sometimes really sort of … you know.
The only time I ever have to to log in again is when I update to a new Vivaldi snapshot.
You can switch it off for say 1 week, and unless you do an immediate update your Vivaldi session would still be there after reboot?
Now that's interesting - indicating the cause is on my side after all. Hmm, needs more thinking. Thanks to both for your feedback, really appreciated.

Hi guys,
actually, you shouldn't enter login/pass every time. Proably, you need to clean cookies and check the clear installation of Vivaldi.
Thanks!

Yes, I really want this cookie rule thing changed. I want it to be like Facebook, where I'm always logged in no matter what. Give us, the users, choice. It's annoying to be logged out and have to log back in twice a day.

I would be curious to learn if ANYONE can turn their machine off overnight and , when starting Vivaldi again the next morning, see themselves still logged in. I can stay logged in indefinitely, it seems, if I leave my machine on for a week. But if I turn it off overnight, it has NEVER been the case that I'm still logged in in the morning.

Hi Shpankov,
I've just created a completely new profile with Beta 2 (do that every once in a while anyway). I guess this is what you mean with "clean cookies and clear installation"? That didn't change anything. Nevertheless I will try again, this time by deleting all Vivaldi-cookies once again. edit: cookies just deleted.

Thanks!@Ayespy: Just for confirmation, my "premature session loss" requires a restart of Vivaldi (directly or via Windows reboot), of course.

Hi,
after updating to the last snapshot for 2015 I sort of tried to log what's going on.
With some browser restarts my Vivaldi.net-Session did not survive even 2 days (23.12/13:00 - 25.12/08:00). Regarding the numbers of cookies listed in the settings there is some loss. Maybe that's the cause (and not the result) of the observations some people have reported?
Unfortunately I have no clue how to dissect this any further efficiently.someone

Oh gosh yes, please fix this, I can't be arsed to log in EVERY DAMN TIME and several times I held out feedback because I had to login.
FIX IT ASAP!

since the last forum-update (or maintanance breakdown) I have to login every single time (within 24h)
quite annoying -
And on the top of that, the login form doesnt work with LastPass, so I always have to copy the password and past it manually. It s just unnecessary - as if anything happened if somebody stole my Vivaldi community account…
-
I don't think it's a bug as it happens only here. Perhaps a missing class(/id/however is it recognized) of the password field… I just didn't want to start a new thread, as it wouldn't be nearly as annoying, if we didn't have to login every 2 days...

Hmm, since some (Vivaldi browser or community platform?) updatesI think it has become even worse.
What a pity and misinterpretation of cookie based persistency.
