[Solved] I cannot launch Vivaldi after getting new Win10 build
-
Hi all, I've received Win10 build 14342 (I am on the Slow Ring), and ever since this, I cannot seem to launch Vivaldi. I click on the icon, it loads for a few seconds, then nothing happens. Here's the troubleshooting I've done so far. -Checked Event Viewer --> I found no logs about Vivaldi not starting, or even trying to start. -Downloaded Vivaldi again, both 32 and 64 bit installer, installed them in separate locations (not in my AppData\Local folder) --> these also cannot be started -Started Windows in Safe mode with networking --> problem remains -Logged in to Windows (normal mode) with a different account --> there Vivaldi launches all right --> problem seems to be with something in my account -Used PowerShell to get a list of processes running on my standard account and on the test account, then to compare the results --> there are some processes and services running on the test account which are not running on my normal account, but looking at them, I could not pinpoint any that would cause this issue (I upload here a picture showing the process and service comparisons) -Ran a query of running Vivaldi processes in PowerShell --> by default, no Vivaldi processes are running, but when I try to start Vivaldi, 5 Vivaldi processes show up, which then disappear Strangely, nothing else seems broken by this upgrade, only Vivaldi refuses to work. Still, I have gotten quite used to it, so I'd like to be able to keep using it. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you, I didn't find that topic.
I will try the solution mentioned there (though I suppose the prsence of ChromeDWriteFontCache in my original installation should not have an effect on the new installations in new folders, but I'll try anyway).Strange that this bug is so sporadic, as I can see that only a few of us have encountered it.
EDIT
It worked, thank you very much again! -

Aside that the solved checkmark isn't that noticeable, keep in mind that the forum will be migrated (I hope) soon, and I'm not sure such kind of details will be migrated/taken in account.
In short is better to add the good old [solved] writing to thread's title, at least for the time being.

I just about got used to this one. Why do people have to keep changing stuff that works? If the Kunena forum code was so bad, why choose it in the first place?

"Works" and "kumena" in the same sentence?

Don't ask me. I hated it since the day one, just like the Opera forum engine.
Not that I'm specially in love with the new thing, but at least it's ten times faster.
