@Pesala Would the Stable version or the Snapshot be more advantageous for users?
Since Snapshot has updates and fixes faster?
what's the ideal? -

Since Snapshot has updates and fixes faster?Snapshots are testing versions, with bugfixes, may be new bugs, may be new features, sometimes dataloss - only for very encouraged users! No guarantee for maximum stability.
Your risk!

@DoctorG Thanks!
-
@carlinhosnewstyle I always want users to know the risks with a Snapshot
-
@DoctorG Can you answer me a doubt? I chose to install the Snapshot version, put my longin and password for my vivaldi account in the browser to have all my bookmarks and passwords saved.
Because it's a Snapshot version, am I safe with the passwords saved in the browser? -
@carlinhosnewstyle
Hi, I use the snapshot as daily driver and the stable as standalone install for testing user issues.
The passwords are encrypted with your Windows ID, doesn´t matter if it is stable or snapshot. Vivaldi sync is encrypted on the Vivaldi server and only the user can decrypt it.
Keep in mind to not install the snapshot over the stable version and use the standalone option as @DoctorG mention.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Glad to know that my passwords saved in the browser are protected as I have the password encrypted.
I see a lot of Malware that can access the passwords saved in the browser, that's why I asked the question if I'm safe.

@carlinhosnewstyle Install the Snapshot as Standalone by using "Advanced" in installer, do not install in same path of your current Stable, use a different. So you can use it when the Stable fails for some pages.
-
@carlinhosnewstyle That depends on the user. I use the Standalone installed Snapshot as my default browser, and the Stable version just for checking bug reports.
However, I am an experienced beta tester and do not easily get frustrated by bugs and cosmetic issues.
Even total data loss does not ruin my life, as I keep a backup of my entire virtual drive to revert to an earlier setup, in the worst case scenario. Then I just have to extract a few files from archives to get back to where I was before the data loss.

@carlinhosnewstyle in case you still have the problem, I had the same issues. Please try to reinstall the Vivaldi Browser, this is what worked for me.
-
@mows I just installed Vivaldi Snapshot, to get this fix faster, and future fixes, I couldn't stand waiting for the stable version.
-
@carlinhosnewstyle Did you use the Standalone installation as advised?
-
@Pesala yes!
