Solved Am I seeing censorship?
-
I do not use Google as a search engine. I use Result Hunter and Search Belt, one a conservative and the other a Christian search engine. Recently, when doing a search on either one of these I get no results - zip, zero, none. If I use Google I get results. Is this a fluke or are those two engines being suppressed? If there is a setting to change, please let me know. If not, I will be uninstalling Vivaldi.

Thanks to everyone. Turning off blocking fixed the problem. I didn't realize that any blocking had been turned on but it was. Don't know how but it was.
I'm glad no censorship was involved.

@jmssr Vivaldi does not censor content.
Works nice for me
https://resulthunter.com/search?engine=1&q=flat+earth
loads results.
Same athttps://searchbelt.com/search?engine=1&q=devil
but these site track users. Do you think that is nice to spy on users? That is no freedom. But some search sites spy, track ans spill ads on you. Ad-Tracker Blocker extensions help users fight against unwanted content.

@jmssr Both Result Hunter and Search Belt filter content. Search Belt censors it as well. Vivaldi neither filters nor censors content. At all.
It is possible the ad and tracker blocker of Vivaldi may block these sites (because they rely on ads and tracking to make their income) so you may have to turn off blocking to see the results from these engines.
So it could be you need to turn off ad and tracker blocking to see your results. It is also possible that some extension you use affects how these search engines work for you.

This topic, lol
Two search engines which refuse to show results unless you let all ads through…
I wouldn’t be fine with this. -
Both search engines get their results solely from Google, including a ton of Google trackers.
The DDG Tracker Radar list blocks requests to:
https://cse.google.com/cse.js
This causes searches to fail because the site relies solely on results and ads from Google. They use this API for the results:
https://programmablesearchengine.google.com/about/
Basically anyone can get Google results on their site - in exchange for this free service, users are of course also getting trackedBoth engines seem to be from the same company: JT Smith Ads LLC
https://jtsmithads.com
Seems to be a single-person company. -
