Native Vivaldi app for Ubuntu Touch
-
It is unlikely this will attract an abundance of supportive votes because Ubuntu Touch is still a very niche phone OS, but hear me out:
More and more people are becoming interested in alternatives to Android and iOS. While a lot of these platforms are not quite ready for daily driving, Ubuntu Touch is getting really good. The one thing it lacks is a really solid browser like Vivaldi.
The Android version can be run through Waydroid, but it's a little more clunky to get stuff running that way and if a native version were available people would absolutely use it. Once they see how awesome it is they would most likely switch to using Vivaldi on their desktop as well to take advantage of synced tabs, etc.
TL/DR: not a huge market, but practically guaranteed Vivaldi converts if you guys could set up a native app for them.

I would love that TBH.

Having looked at all the applications on Touch, Vivaldi would be a good fit but it might be worth waiting till mail etc is integrated into the mobile versions.

@ZD8 I tried to install ARM x64 version of Vivaldi, it get through installation process but not without problems, sadly. It complained about outdated dependencies. I had a shortcut for the app in the app drawer but it didn't want to launch. We might want to wait until stable Ubuntu Touch 20.04 is finally released.
