Smoother Scrolling
-
I am asking a question. Is there going to be any uptades for smoother scrolling on webpages. Or is alraedy a way for smoother scrolling on webpages for Vivaldi. Thank you for answers.

Vivaldi already implemented Smooth Scrolling but of course it cant match MS EDGE which is implement better GPU acceleration.

This is perhaps not what you want, but I throw it out there. More native configurations on the part would be nice.
I use the Chromium Wheel Smooth Scroller extension to get a more sane scrolling experience.
For example with Options set to:
[ul]
- Mouse Wheel; Step size = 164
- Keyboard; Step size = 94
[/ul]
The options page gives a on-edit-responsive and easy to tune way of configuring.

Try these settings for the mouse:
Step size = 139
Smoothness(forepart) = 11.72
Smoothness = 87.16
Acceleration Sensitivity = 305Do you think that'll make it feel more like Edge and Safari on Mac?
And thanks for recommending this extension. I just found it now, and started playing with it. Though I find it makes the scroll stutter sometimes. Is that normal?

Yes it is getting there :cheer:
I have not noticed any stuttering – I'm mainly on Linux. Do not know if that could have something to do with it.
The only thing I do not seem to agree with myself on, and for the most part keep tuning, is the Bouncy Edge configuration …
That said it would be nice if a native line of configurable options was present. Not sure if there are any. In Fire Fox one have, for example things like:
[ul]
- mousewheel.default.delta_multiplier_y
- general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS
- mousewheel.enable_pixel_scrolling
- mousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount
- mousewheel.acceleration.start
[/ul]

That would be nice. I didn't continue using the extension because of the stuttering. It was pretty distracting. But I did like the configuration I got, it's kind of like Apple Safari, which is the feel I was going for. But I hope Vivaldi can natively have that kind of smooth scrolling eventually. That, and the font rendering, would help in making browsing a really nice experience.
