@Pathduck Duplicate of "VB-89275 Remove profile causes crash" - Confirmed
-
@Pathduck I spotted it a while ago. I had to launch vivaldi with
--disable-vivaldi
in order to do it (from there). -

Holy Hades, what is going on with V lately?

[BUG] can't delete e-mail into sent folders, if I select them from the "all messages" TAB.
Try this:
- click on the "All Messages" filter in Vivaldi desktop (windows x64, here)
- click on a message you sent
- press the "delete" key on the keyboard, to delete that message
RESULT: you'll see that Vivaldi will not delete the sent message) - click on the "Sent" filter, right below the "All Messages"
- repeat steps 2. and 3.
RESULT: you'll see that Vivaldi will delete the message
Vivaldi deletes the message, only in "Sent" view, while it should erase message into the sent folder, also when you view them, using the "All Messages" view.
Anyone confirms?

When will you finally fix Hardware Acceleration?!
Had you tries latest 5.3 Stable?
May be it is a issue with Chromium core and your GPU driver. -

@newscpq Works here on a conventional account. What kind of account is the one you're having trouble with? (for instance, GMail?)
-
@ayespy: yahoo and vivaldi IMAP accounts don't work (any of the e-mail accounts I use)
-
@newscpq But it works here in Vivaldi.net IMAP. Are you using 5.3?
-
@ayespy: using 5.3.2679.30 (Official Build) (64-bit)
-
@newscpq Tested it in that version on Vivaldi.net and it works properly.
If all of your mail is IMAP, you can start over with a new profile (backup the Default folder to preserve bookmarks, passwords, etc.) and not lose anything. It seems likely something in your mail handling has broken or become corrupted, and that's REALLY hard to diagnose.
-
@newscpq
Hi, if you use IMAP, as @Ayespy mention, you can rebuild your mail data base, check chapter 2.https://help.vivaldi.com/mail/mail-advanced/troubleshooting-and-debugging-vivaldi-mail/
Cheers, mib

Feels like we must be getting close to land now... Shirley?
Uuuuggghhh! With a gammy leg? You don't have to eat the leg, Thompson, there's still plenty of good meat ... look at that arm.

do any staff read in hear other than @Ruarí - maybe maybe not but i will post what i have to say
5.3 adds many things all of which i am sure are wonderful for some/many but it breaks many mods
yes i know you dont support mods but your users/punters want them - if they did not then much of this forum would not exist so some input would be appreciated i feel from the devs - for example in this release and maybe a few earlier ones you have made major changes to the navbar code - most user mods have stopped working - some have been fixed others not - give a few minutes of your time to help - without users the project is pointless and you dont want to lose those you have
you say the browser is configurable - what does that mean - configurable by users with your settings or configurable by user mods - i suggest its both but killing off a large number of user mods may not matter to you but upsets some of your user base and potentially loses you users
you need users to survive - Vivaldi is an excellent product but its one of many out there - keeping your user base is i would assume important
so maybe helping them a little from time to time would be useful

I am once again reminding that I cannot drag my tabs; this time I do so with a grim realization:
I have to give up some of my privacy in order to give the devs a chance of fixing the issue. I will have to send the Vivaldi team my months old session.
The only way to trigger/reproduce the bug is to have lots of tabs, only my months old session has enough tabs for that
and it's rather hard for a casual user to open this many new tabs just for this
The bug occurs in both Windows and Linux, with accordions enabled and (lots of) tabs on the left/right. It makes you unable to drag tabs without detaching them first. The bug dates back to a version prior to 5.2.
