My opinion on vivaldi and few suggestions
-
I like this browser. Is stable fast (both the browser himself and pages loading), looks nice has few original functions and so on. Hoever there are some things, that I need to add or change. 1. When I click middle mouse button to a previous button I expect that the previous page opens in new tab like in chrome or FF. But nothing hapenns. 2. The boxes with page preview appears on all tabs when cursor is near of them, but the thumbnail appears only on the tabs you at least one time clicked. I wish that thumbnails will be show anytime no matter is it an alredy selected tab or tab in background. 3. It should be an option to set from how many time the thumbnail is visible in ms. 4. When I change to fullscreen in youtube the windows mouse cursor dont dissapear. 5. There is no support for themes and skins. I hope this will be changed in future. This and custom apps and add-ons shop special for vivaldi, not the chrome one. And thats all for now. Sorry for my bad language, English is not my native one.

Well. Vivaldi is mainly intended as the Opera successor. Obviously the Opera feature had/have higher priority than FF or chrome features.
Anyway feel free to file a bug about that, will be surely evaluated

Just drag down the divider between tabs and addres bar (or middle click on it) you'll be surprised
4. When I change to fullscreen in youtube the windows mouse cursor dont dissapear.
Known bug, will be fixed surely
5. There is no support for themes and skins. I hope this will be changed in future. This and custom apps and add-ons shop special for vivaldi, not the chrome one.
Themes and layout customization will surely come, but obviously the stability improvements and the still missing but promised features (like the email client end the sync support) have higher priority
And thats all for now. Sorry for my bad language, English is not my native one.

I know what are you talking about, but this is not what i mean. Ok I try to explain that more clear. When I for example open a new tab in background (by clicking the mouse scroll on link) the new tab in background appears next to the current/last tab yes? For this point all is clear right? But when I hover cursor to this new backgrounded tab the box of thumbnail appears, but this box is empty. It has no thumbnail. Why? Becouse the tab is in background, and I can see only the thumbnails of the at leas once selected (clicked) tabs. And besides the thumbnail appears almost instantly after cursor stops at the tab. Why so instant? It should appears 1-2 seconds after cursor stops at the tab. And you should be able to change this 1-2 seconds delay of showing thumbnail by your own will. 1 second, 2 seconds, less than 1 second, more than 3 seconds etc. An option to change the delay of box with site thumbnail appears after the cursor stops on the tab should be added. In miliseconds.
Short version: The problem is that not every tab has thumbnail, backgrounded ones dont have it. Only active tabs. I can record a short clip to explain what I mean, but I dont want to do this. Maybe if is nesceseryβ¦
Now I hope You understand me.

Good to know. That makes me happy.
Other things: In firefox you can change almost literally everything to customise your browser. Skins and options are not the only ones. You can for example switch the buttons in the top panel. Move refresh button to the left end, and home button to the right end and so on. I wish to see those abilities in Vivaldi.
Second thing: There is no history section in Vivaldi. Yes there is a recycle bin icon in the right top corner and address bar also predicts the adresses that you want to write, but this is not the same. When I for example want to search the sites I visited a month ago, there is no easy way to do it. No complete, literaly history section like in other browsers including firefox when you have a stand alone history window. OK there are panels in Vivaldi. You can show a downloaded files, bookmarks, notes and more in this panels. So why don't put the pages visited in past here? There should exist an another tab with history.
BTW: Maybe there is something that I can do to erase or at least reduse my problems with this cool browser? I heard that Vivaldi was made in css and html, so changing this code can add new things or delete other right? If there is some options that i missed to change my vivaldi, let me know!

There is a link to the History page at the top of the Speed Dial page.
Ultimately, Vivaldi will be MORE customizable than Firefox.

Ok. Understood
Didn't notice that because, more or less I visit always the same sites. So my background tabs are mostly always populated.
Anyway I think there are two things to take in account here.
While the SD thumbnails are rendered offline (the page is loaded completely in an "invisible" page) which is an intensive and time consuming task, the floating ones you're talking about are, more or less, plain screenshots of the actual page rendered in background on a real tab, which is an almost instant process.
The second thing is that since the build 300 or so, the background tabs aren't rendered at all because the lazy tab loading introduced at the time (the page is downloaded only when you focus the tab, to speedup the browser, spare bandwith for people on limited data plan, and so on).
ATM there isn't any user configuration to enable or disable that mechanism, but surely it will come in the future

That aspect is, again one of the more appreciated Opera features, FF started as a plain and simple browser, then copied part of the endless Opera possibilities (and that process took years).
Again Vivaldi is its natural successor, week by week, build by build it will reintroduce most of them. The list is long, and Vivaldi is not MS or Google, so that process takes time.
For the record even a large company like MS is improving its Edge browser with a slower pace than Vivaldi did (and is doing).

Vivaldi has the history section, you can access it from the speed dial page.
That said the history is mostly unchanged from the Chromium's one. It's practically the part who received less work/love from the vivaldi team. So, I believe, will be the first thing that will be taken in account after the V1 release, and after the work about the mail client and the sync will be "finished"
Be sure there will be an history panel just like in Opera, but don't hold your breath for that, I think you have to wait some more months for that.

Yes. I understand good and you have right of course. Hoever I am pretty sure that in Opera you don't need to wait until page is fully loaded to see his own thumbnail even in background tabs. There is also an add-on to Firefox that adds this funcionality to ff. And this add-on works perfectly! Even better than Vivaldi's native feature! The previews appears to all open tabs. Background and active all at the same time. The options and customisations for this add-on are powerfull and worthy to write about them too. You can for instance set how big the box with the thumbnail is, how long you should wait until the box appears, what will happend if you click on this box etc. And remember, this is only an add-on. Plugin, but powerfull, well-integrated and smooth. Works perfect, much better than vivaldis feature and looks like a native function of ff, but is not!
About history: OK I forgot about the speed dial's history. Now when i click the history button in new, empty tab i see what i want. So you can forget about those what I'm said about Vivaldi's history.
OK so now I know about Vivaldis future and plans. I will wait becouse is worthy and it sounds great! Can't wait! I have time and patience.
BTW How old this browser is?

BTW How old this browser is?
Three days to the first birthday.
(obviously the development started months before that date)

He's right though - the tab thumbnails have never actually worked for tabs opened in background. It's annoyed me too; if I have been middle-clicking a whole bunch of links - enough that the title isn't shown next to the icons on the tab-bar - then I can't use the thumbnails to see which tab I want to look at⦠I have to guess "is it this one?"... click... "no, so is it this one?"... click... "sigh, no, okay must be this one"... click... "at last!"
There's no point at all in having thumbnails when there aren't actually any thumbnails generated.
This is a bug. I think I've mentioned it myself a long time ago, but I don't know if it's been reported. Even with lazy tabs they do load up some time in background, don't they? Then as you said it's 'just a screenshot' so it shouldn't be taking too much resources to generate once the page is loaded.

OK I'm done here. For now at least.
One more question: Does anybody reported my insights to the vivaldi's makers? Does any developer saw my posts here? At least one post and at least one developer? Or other crew member?
