Stabilization for 5.3 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2679.13
-
@guigirl Because a Vivaldi dev has mentioned the first issue had been fixed in a snapshot, but there was no mention of it being included in a stable version as of now. So, if the next update is to be a 'big' release, it'd be nice to make sure these issues are addressed internally.

If your bug is already
fixed in a snapshot
...then by definition, once sufficient Snappies & RCs have arisen, all the cumulative changes will be incorporated into the next Stable. That's the whole point of the Snappie development cycle. Afaik, in-between scheduled Stables, no interim Snappie fixes are backported into the current Stable, except for emergency chromium patches, & selected major bugfixes for any evasive bugs that made current Stables unusable. Again afaik, for all lesser bugfixes, you just have to patiently await the next Stable, or alternatively come on over into the Snappie stream where all the fun is.

"Shift+D&D" changed to "Ctrl + D&D".
It does make sense... or not? -
@shifte It does not make sense for me — I thought it was broken or removed because we now have right-click, edit toolbar.
Maybe Ctrl is a more commonly used modifier for this function.

Yeah, you're right.
Thanks for answering my question about Shifty Shifte's Shift. -
[Media] Autoplay control settings removed: will be back after 5.3
You always remove most needed features, both this one and syncable search engines between desktop and mobile versions.

Come on, it's not removed to cause an annoyance to you, but because it was incomplete and buggy so it has to be reworked; as they said, it will be back after 5.3

Totally agree! But bring a sensible attitude of acceptance toward the vicisitudes of incremental development, please! (Things gang aft agley... And remember:
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,. For promis'd joy! Still, thou art blest, compar'd wi' me! The present only toucheth thee:.
IOW: Don't "replace" your stable install with a snapshot; that ain't what it'd for!:)

@DoctorG ...well, I had six weeks of typesetting — in '64 (Meet y'all in the Naughty Corner! Save me a seat, por favor, sill-y vous play?!)

I find reading these SnapShot threads more informative after a pause of a few days...
Am I the only one who liked the floating panel/panel bar combination?
It seems to have stuck... (Please don't tell anyone — before I can make a stand-alone of this (Yes, it's from the Stable! But -still- I think I'm posting in the right place!?:)

Well, fwiw, if one uses Mac or Linux, instead of windoze, they install ootb with separate differentiated paths [both the actual executables, & the user profile data], so it's simply super easy peasy to run both in parallel with nary a trouble.

Euw! We don't want none o' that mucky stuff hereaboots. Normies? Naaaaaah.

...went a bit --loose-- and pictorially divulged your second ID here? Maybe i'm mistaken; confusion often accompanies my habit of doing a bit of travelling FTL
