Vivaldi steals focus, prevent alt-tabbing to other applications
-
Hi, I've been using Vivaldi beta for some time now and I've become very attached to it. So first, I want to thank again the developers for their excellent work. Thank you! Since updating recently I've noticed that Vivaldi is a little too keen to steal focus when I am alt-tabbing between applications. It is very noticeable for me - if I have Vivaldi open and alt-tab to another application (e.g. MS word), Vivaldi will many times (but not always) steal the focus and pop out in front (when it should have been word) I have observed this consistently since the update (1.0.435.42 (32-bit)), and on 2 windows laptops, one running Windows 7 and the other Windows 10. Same behaviour in both. Not a showstopper for me, but I felt it was worth mentioning as I have not experienced it in the betas. It just seems odd. Have others encountered this? I'm not very technically minded but if there are specific details I can provide I will try to get them to you. Kind thanks again - Vivaldi FTW!, stim

Is there a bug tracker we can see? I'll add to this, Vivaldi not only steals focus, but also raises itself frequently and unexpectedly, especially if focus has just been granted and taken away. Likely related to X-Mouse being set on this machine (my rules being that the application under the mouse cursor receives focus with a 20 ms delay, but isn't raised). For me, this could be a dealbreaker, and I loved Opera and am otherwise loving Vivaldi.

Hi all,
Hope you're well
Please confirm whether this bug has been fixed and/or whether there are any pertinent issues relating to tab focus stealing in the bug tracker?
I'm attempting to fix a really annoying bug[g] but it only seems to be applicable to Vivaldi browser
Hope to hear back
Yours faithfully

@ldexterldesign The issue you've linked to seems to be unrelated to this old thread. Please open a new thread and explain how to reproduce the issue you're experiencing, so that others may test it & give you advice or confirm if there is actually a bug. Thank you!
