Anyone else having issues with FB videos/gifs?
-
I've been having this issue since a few snapshots now. I already reported the bug as VB-15450 the responses I received from the testing team were not very reassuring. Here's how videos appear sometimes: http://imgur.com/1VPVVzL But gifs never seem to work: http://imgur.com/PScpD1T Anyone having the same issues? Win10/ Vivaldi 64bit p/s Disabling h/w acceleration and installing the latest PPAPI flash does not help.

@Gwen-Dragon:
These so called "GIF" are really MP4 video. FB tells you wrong information!
Yeah, that's what you told me through email as well. Unfortunately I can't say that it helps my situation in any meaningful way
@Gwen-Dragon:
You must have a Windows with special video codecs configuration.
If I did would't Chrome have the same issue (which now it doesn't)?

This is what I get:

@Gwen-Dragon:
For me this plays on my Windows 10x64 ver 1511 (Build 10586.165)
Chrome brings own codecs implementation whereas Vivaldi uses the installed in Windows..Anything I can do to reset the codecs (although I haven't tinkered with codecs at all since installing windows)?

Should I file another bug report that videos only run with h/w acceleration enabled? :lol:
I disabled h/w acceleration intentionally because Vivaldi runs a lot worse responsivewise on my system when that option is enabled.

@Gwen-Dragon:
No you dont need to file a bug I added a remark in your bugreport.
With activated HWA the video plays?
Yes it does
