Poll Started! Which Opera features do you miss most?

I have been a Presto fan since 2006, and I'm still using it, because Vivaldi still lacks the most important thing for me: good tab stack handling.
Things I would like (in the order of importance):
[ol]* Being able to rearrange tabs inside the tab stack (and I don't mean by unstacking it, or by removing the tab from stack and re-adding it!), either on the preview, or by moving the little rectangles on top of the stack (both would be nice).
- Being able to have the tab be automatically added to the current stack when opening a link in a new tab.
(This is technically not a feature in vanilla Presto, but comes from Joel Spadin's extension AutoStack) - (Extension to #1) Being able to move a tab from the middle (meaning: not the edge) of one stack, to the middle of another stack.[/ol]
If I got these (especially the first 2), I would be using Vivaldi in a second.
- Being able to have the tab be automatically added to the current stack when opening a link in a new tab.
-
I'd like to see the sync feature.
For everything including notes and using some strong encryption. -
[ol]
- Email client
- Customise keyboard shortcut launch programs with mnemonic shortcuts, e.g. F,T,P =Execute program, "O:\FTP Commander\ftpcomm.exe"
- Customise toolbar buttons to do the same
- Customise skins to add my own toolbar buttons
- Customise menus
- Customise speed dial icons with own images
- Right-click menu to Insert Notes into text fields
- PageBar Open URL On MiddleClick = Middle-click on Tab bar to go to URL in Windows clipboard
- Manage Downloads for different MIME types
- Relatively easy backup of settings by archiving the Profile folder. Vivaldi should have something that we requested for over a decade on My Opera: One-click backup of user settings.
[/ol]
-
1. E-mail and RSS client
2. Clicking 'Open' when downloading a file would place the file in some temporary folder instead of placing it in the regular download folder.
3. Detailed image properties (resolution, format, URL, etc.)
4. Cookie white-list, instead of the current keep all - delete all system. -
Mail module is my favorite thing i want.
-
1. Email & RSS
2. a simply way to change dictionary on the fly while typing. I write in FOUR different languages and currently I have to click 5 times to set a different dictionary and 5 times to reset the previous one.Indeed, #2 is the most annoying change I've ever seen.
-
Big wish:
- Email & RSS-Client
- Sync of the whole Vivaldi profile to use one profile on different machines or platforms
- Auto-Refresh in web-panels (maybe it is possible to modify auto-refresh for each panel)
mediocre wish
- Drag & Drop web-panels
minor wish
- changing backgrounds after an amount of time
- Bookmark bar placed on the left or right
-
1. What happens when you close a tab still isn't similar to Opera
2. "Search with". I can't believe this one is missing
3. Customized mouse gestures
4. Image properties
5. Dragging a tab as a new window (I'll give an example: I have an extended screen setting where the other screen is my tv which I can view at the same time when I'm at my PC. When I bump to a video of some sort, I can quickly throw it to the tv screen and continue my browsing with the original window)
6. "Go to web address"
7. Browser identification
8. Speed dial zoom / scaling
9. Reload schedule
10. Directly creating search engines from web page search fieldFeatures not in opera either:
1. Custom quick access zoom buttons. Let's say 5 big enough buttons as a separate toolbar which I can add to any side of the window and select my preferred zoom levels on those buttons. That slider is terrible, I can't understand why most browser use it. Some browsers even hide the zoom from main window under some menu. Even IE wins most browser in its zoom function.
2. Folders in speed dial is a great idea. What I'm missing when I use more and more folders in speed dial, is adding some picture or logo to the folder. -
1. Email-Client
2. All the features of Opera's DownloadManager:
[ul]- -"Open" uses a temporary folder
- -Show the remaining download time
- -The Windows contextmenu as submenu
[/ul]
3. Extended tab stacking with resorting
4. Page specific settings (javascript, block contents, autoreloadtime, etc)
Nice to have:
-Option to show properties of an image (height, width, size, etc) -
- Sync
- Speed Dial functionality
- Vertical tab list cycler, with the ability to customize the keyboard shortcuts for that and have the scroll on tab bar disabled. It was perfect!
- UI performance was great.
- Font rendering was better.
The list goes on, but those are my main things that I love about Opera 12.

Hi, the OPERA from presto era still is my favorite. I like speed dial, for me it's more useful than usual bookmarks, because thumbnail help in orientation. So I suggest:
- increase numbers of column up to eight as minimum. Yes, thumbnails will be smaller, but it's not a big deal
- increase numbers of speed dials button; now I could make only 120 pcs., after that further adding is impossible and ADD button stuck in the low left position
-
When searching the page hit enter to open a link (I think in opera the search was with ' . ' ). Very useful!

@`basTi:
When searching the page hit enter to open a link (I think in opera the search was with ' . ' ). Very useful!
Hit Esc to close the find toolbar and return focus to the page, then hit Enter
You can set the shortcut for Find in Page to / which is what Opera 12.17 uses. Find in links used the . shortcut

Maybe familiarize yourself with speed dial folders rather than having 120 speed dial buttons which to me doesn't seem to be very useful when buttons start to go off screen.
Folders are great as you can right click the folder and open all speed dials inside that folder or click the folder open and get a new set of speed dials on your screen.
Quite more useful than having speed dial buttons which you have to find by scrolling the screen.Folder icon / thumbnail is just missing to identify the folder better and faster.

Opera up to version 12 is unrivaled.
Sure, for basic browsing, Chrome-like browsers as OK.
But if you want to control your browser (and not be constrained or controlled by it), then you need Opera 12.Opera 12 features I really love:
-
MDI windows (instead of tabs): tabs don't take profit for the wide screens and don't allow to view several pages at the same time while staying inside only one browser instance. MDI windows do! Opera gives the choice: tabs or MDI.
-
Cookies on/off on a per site basis (I want to disable cookies everywhere except on selected sites such as vivaldi.net)
-
Easy disable/enable javascript, plugins, etc (F12 key on Opera)
-
Allow search engines keyword: assign a keyword to each search engine and use these keyword in the URL box to search (for instance "g vivaldi" would search for vivaldi with Google as I assigned keyword 'g' to google search)
-
Have a "please wait" indicator next to the mouse cursor when a page is loading after I clicked on a link or hit reload or mouse-gestured backward to the previous page
-
"Links page": In Opera, Ctrl+J lists all links found in the current page. Very convenient to easily download multiple items.
-
Edit site preference (easy site-per-site customization)
-
Reload every: long click on the reload icon allows to force periodic page reload
-
Native "block content" feature, with easy editable blocked urls
-
Onboard Feeds (RSS) reader
-
"Image properties" option when I right-click on an image (image metadata may be instructive)
-
"Search with" option when I right-click on selected text: allows to choose the search engine to be used (different engines for images, audio, video, amazon, wikipedia, etc)
-
Directly creating search engines from the search field (and easy customization of the search engine)
-
and allow POST search engines
-
Follower tab: so useful when combined with MDI windows (e.g have a page with thumbnails on the left and a static follower page on the right where each clicked photo is displayed)
-
user.css and user.js files: very useful to hide lousy elements
-
Menu customization (add bookmarks menu, add custom menus)
-
Onboard Mail reader would be great
-
-
Folder icon / thumbnail is just missing to identify the folder better and faster.
Oh yes, I wish I can change the folder icons / thumbnails in SpeeDial by myself. This would be really great.
Another missing feature:
1.) "Open with …"
-> Open a link or a page with an other browser / program.2.) "Search with …"
-> see the comment from EtaCarina:option when I right-click on selected text: allows to choose the search engine to be used (different engines for images, audio, video, amazon, wikipedia, etc)

MDI

-
Being able to set my preferred language for websites.
This is a crucial feature that unfortunately most browsers miss, I don't know why.
-
Right now my three most missed features are:
EMail client.
Being able to set the bookmark bar vertically to right or left.
Pin a stack of tabs or stack pinned tabs.
