Is my objective achievable with current V?

I have 4 news sites that i consult multiple times every day. I find it convenient to stack these 4 tabs, then tile them, so that i can see all 4 simultaneously. To aid that last aspect, i reduce each tiled tab's scale to 60%-70%. Then each time i peruse each tiled tab's latest update, i middle-click [background open] each interesting link. That is repeated for each of the 4 sites. Thereafter i Group All Similar Tabs to stack, for each of those 4 parent sites. So far so good. I then activate the first of the new tabs to begin my new reading. However, all the child tabs have inherited their parent's 60%-70% zoom, whereas i prefer to read the actual child pages in either 90% or 100% zoom. Hence i reset that zoom to say 100% & read on, moving sequentially thru' all child tabs sourced from each of the 4 parent tabs, closing each tab once read. However, next time i return to the parent tab, its zoom is now that 100%, coz i'd reset its child. Is there a way i can "permanently" retain the tiled parents at say 70%, but have it so that all children open at say 100%? In a few different SS's i've occasionally tried the setting "Use tab zoom", but it completely confuses me as it makes V go bonkers, somehow muddling up page zoom with UI zoom. Each time i've tried it i had to immediately abandon it [& restart V]. Clues welcomed, please. Linux Mint x64 17.3 KDE.

Why do you always use blue text?
It is harder to read than black text. Even if you like it, you're going to have to read black text when people reply.

It's purple.

Don't bother to read it in future if it offends or hurts you.
Well, that's my point. I don't bother to read your posts, not because they cause offence, but because they are more difficult to read.
One would assume that the primary reason for posting on this forum would be to communicate your ideas about Vivaldi and not just to produce posts that are nice (for you) to look at.
It's purple.
Which illustrates my point well. Because I suffer from Colour-blindness any red is dull and not perceived as others see it. In purple, my eyes can detect the blue normally, but the red is weak. If looking at a tree full of red berries from a distance, I cannot see that it is full of berries. The berries becomes clear once I get close. The fact that the text is purple becomes obvious only when I zoom in close. Otherwise, it is hard to distinguish from blue text.
I can clearly see the number 12 below, but that is the only number that I can see at all. I can see that the other circles might contain numbers, but I am only guessing that they are 15 and 8. It is impossible to be certain.

Back to the query
I would have expected "Tab Zoom" to be the setting for this.
As it only affects TABS you should be able to set the zoom level (and keep it) for the parent tabs - but when opening new "child tabs" you could vary their zoom level WITHOUT affecting the parent(s).
However, I haven't used the feature in anger. With the problems you encounter, perhaps you have found a bug with the feature?

[ol]
- I disabled the setting for "Use Tab Zoom"
- I opened two similar pages on my own site and tiled them vertically
- I zoomed each page to about 70% to fit better
- I opened a link to an anchor on each page in the background
- Each page opened at my default zoom so there was no need to reset anything
- Stacking all four similar tabs did not change any tab's zoom level
- Resetting a child tab's zoom did reset the parent's tab zoom as you said, so don't do it. Use the scrollwheel or keyboard to adjust the zoom on the child pages if you need to

"I don't bother to read your posts" –> in that case, we already have a win-win via the status quo; you remain untroubled by me, & i still am able to retain my aesthetic preference. Mind you, that someone who does not bother to read my posts, read my post, & then wrote a non-reply reply, strikes me as somewhat inconsistent.
You have a very bad attitude. My reply was not a non-reply at all. I took a lot of my free time to fix your post, read it, and to confirm that there was no problem here and that you needed to revisit the settings dialogue and the Use Tab Zoom checkbox.
Why should I have to explain why I find purple text harder to read than black? A simple statement of the fact should be enough for you to understand.

"If you intend to publicly lie, it would aid your dishonest efficacy if the evidence to comprehensively disprove your lie was not so instantly available. Here is a picture of your reply to my initial post [which is all my remark addressed].
If you are going to accuse people of lying, better get your facts straight before jumping to your own conclusions.
I was referring to this post not the earlier one. Obviously, I can only tell you what happens on my 32-bit Vivaldi install on Windows 7, not your 64-bit install in Linux, and the fact that it works for me is a clear indication that you need to revisit the Tab Zoom Setting, so my reply was helpful, and aimed at providing some genuine help for your problem, but you chose to disregard it.
My earlier reply, the one that you apparently meant by "a non-reply" was a reply to your snarky post about why you like to use purple text.
