I am impressed. Still using Opera 12.17 for a couple sites but believe that will be changing as I continue testing Vivaldi for my needs. Great to see the Horizontal Main Menu Bar, Status Bar, Bookmarks Bar, in addition to the side panel. Few small bugs which will be addressed and a few features need added but overall a great browser. Adding ixquick for my search engine was a snap and learning the bookmarks just took a couple minutes. After the 1st version is released, have a strong suspicion downloading and use of the browser is going to take off. Its very encouraging releases are not being rushed and the present user feedback has been very positive. Its like the fun of the Internet is staring to return

I am checking now on Vivaldi after many months, but - there is still no multiple rows bookmarks bar? Am I correct, or I don't see how to enable it?

That's a feature that probably won't arrive until after version 1.

A small question - what does the file "Top Sites" in the Vivaldi\User Data\Default folder contain?

A small question - what does the file "Top Sites" in the Vivaldi\User Data\Default folder contain?
A number of things accumulated during browsing but, among them, the thumbnail images of pages, such as what you see in Speed Dial.

The browser is oversome! Thank you! :woohoo:
I see it is made on a google chrome platform. How can I attach my google account in it? -
And once more: it will be so great to see a switcher between PROXIES like in FlashPeak Slimjet (64 bit) - to allow Vivaldi use not only system proxy settings )

Hi Lads N Lasses
I was watching "CLICK" and the Vivaldi Browser was a feature on there show so I had to come see what it's like.
Moving on, I'm running the Beta version x64-bit for Windows and I was wondering as I don't see any extensions any place.Would it be wise for me to add & use the LAST-PASS password manger ?, or are extensions not an option on this browser.
I am New to this Browser, so I may of missed something about extensions, I'd appreciate any advice concerning this LAST-PASS extension prior to me adding it and something going wrong, please.
Regards

Three things:
-
Why did you install the old beta when stable 1.0 is available (and 1.1 is coming)?
-
64-bits doesn't really gain any performance and is officially less stable/supported, so you'd be better off with the 32-bits version
-
I don't use extensions but plenty of people have said they use LastPass. I believe there may have been some issue with the last version of Vivaldi or LastPass though - I'm sure you'll find it in the forums (it was a recent topic)
Other than that, welcome to Vivaldiโฆ!

Thank you for your welcome. Appreciated
Why 64 bits? Because I can, also because I have 32Gb@3000Mhz and we all know running anything in 64 bits as long as you've the ram, It'll take advantage of the architecture much better, There are a lot of advantages running applications via 64bit, otherwise why waste their time making the useless things in the first place if they don't work or Not much difference, as you claim .
Anyway here's a little info what Google techs found
64-bit processors are faster than their 32-bit counterparts. Google found a 25% improvement in performance, especially in visual elements.
Then you have Security, 64-bit systems are a little more secure than 32-bit counterparts. also, the 64-bit version of Chrome utilizes Windows 8 features to help make it harder for hackers to target processes running on any computer. If they canโt find it, they canโt hack it. Then we have Stability, It's reported that 64bit crashes only half as much as the 32-bit Chrome.Look I could go on and on for reasons to run 64 bits, However, there's always going to be a percentage of old school that hate change, love windows XP and 32bits, That's fine, you stick with 32bits, while the rest of us evolve with the times and move forward and take full advantages of the newest technology, I'm a Virtual Reality Gamer, I have the Rig so why not take full advantage of it's tech and use it to my advantage in everyday tasks and not just gaming.

Hi Lads N Lasses
I was watching "CLICK" and the Vivaldi Browser was a feature on there show so I had to come see what it's like.
Moving on, I'm running the Beta version x64-bit for WindowsStable release 1.0 has been available since 08 April. There is no reason to still be using a beta.
and I was wondering as I don't see any extensions any place.
Would it be wise for me to add & use the LAST-PASS password manger ?, or are extensions not an option on this browser.

In general, Vivaldi can use the extensions from Chrome store. See Tools/Extensions
However, there was a problem with LastPass which appears to have been solved in the latest snapshot.
See discussion LastPassAnother extension Xmarks, still does not work correctly
The snapshot is available from Vivaldi Snapshots
However, there was a regression regarding SpeedDial operation
See Snapshot SpeedDialSo you should decide which is more important for you atm, LastPass or SpeedDial :cheer:
And to add a note - the 64 bit version is no longer flagged as "experimental"

Thank you for that reply, It's more than I expected and answers questions I have thought of yesterday, So again Thank you.
Going for the Beta was out of habit to be honest, I'm used to Pre-Alphas n Betas. Theirs also the fact that Click made Vivaldi sound like a real great browser, and Oh boy. This is why I love watching Click, really loving this browser!
