Export Bookmarks?
-
Hello Hello, Seems I just got a notification to update, which I did. However something is not right, The update did not go through properly and I now have 2 versions of Vivaldi Installed. I think I should uninstall and reinstall. Is there a way to export my settings/ bookmarks before I do this?

Ah. Then you have a really, really, really old version. What platform are you on?

Yeah. That's sixteen versions ago. What you want to do, in order to be able to export bookmarks from that version, is go ahead and update it to the most recent snapshot, which you can do merely by downloading that snapshot (NOT the "beta") from https://vivaldi.net/ , and installing it. The version you want is snapshot 1.0.403.20 When you install it, it should simply update your old Beta and retain all of the bookmarks, etc. ACTUALLY, when you installed Beta 3, that is what IT should have done. You should not have two versions on your machine, just one. And this made me wonder whether your old Beta 2 is installed in the typical location, or in some odd place. Looking at your profile details you posted, I see that your .exe file IS in a totally atypical location, for some reason. Still, it's worth trying whether the snapshot will install to the existing paths or not. IF IT WON'T, get back to me and we will do a couple of things to straighten it out.
If the snapshot DOES install over the 1.0.344.37 paths, retaining your data files, then just export your bookmarks from that. Please let me know.

You can now just go to vivaldi.com and download the latest beta 3.
You can export bookmarks in the latest beta!I'm not sure you understood his problem, Gino. He DID install Beta3, but that created two installs, and the Beta3 install has none of his prior data. The reason is, his prior install has the .exe file on the E: drive. I'm trying to walk him thru that.

Hey, I installed just like you said, worked like a charm, it retained all my settings and bookmarks. I can now import/export.
Thank you.
I was doing the "check for updates" thing within the browser itself, guess that wasn't working. -
