Bonus Friday snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2406.25

Ok @AndreyL If you did not remove the extra libs last time, do that before you install this build.
sudo rm -rv /var/opt/vivaldi-snapshot
rm -rv ~/.local/lib/vivaldi-snapshot
After that an install of this build and future builds should "Just Work"
-
@pesala: well… why not?
-
Second snapshot, second post!

Great pic!, just wondering if there’s something related to it or it’s just for the sake of itself.
I’m glad I haven’t updated to 2406.23 yet (coz now I can skip that one download).

Ok, I added some stable stream build equivalents. Now normally we only offer these are RC stage. So what is the deal here, you might ask?
Well the stable will come out very soon, as you might have guessed. Normally at this stage we would have called this RC (the last snapshots are actually pretty good and the realities of keeping on schedule with Chromium updates increase the urgency for release). So we built this build to be an RC. However it got late and we did not have enough time to do the testing normally associated with an RC (the complete set of stable stream builds did not finish building until after midnight).
My options were, just do a snapshot with the snapshot builds I already had or wait and try for an RC on the weekend. But… you know, I have things to do this weekend.
Anyway, since I had the stable stream builds now, I figured, what the hell, might as well share them! I am sure some of you regulars would like an early update of your stable stream browser. So consider this almost an RC.

@Ruarí Calendar button in statusbar visible if Mail is not activated.
I gonna update the bug tracker entry.

Hello. From at least snapshot 2406.4 i can't bookmark pages on private windows, the dialog entries appear empty when i click the add bookmark icon on the address bar. Also ctrl+d doesn't seem to work. Is there a bug report already?
-
@galileo I think, as Private Window does not store any browser data, it is not desgined to add a bookmark.

No you can add bookmark from private windows, it is a bug.
-
@galileo Oh, i see it worked in 4.1.
Please read Help us to reproduce the issue carefully and then report bug to Vivaldi tracker.

@ruarí said in More web panels – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2406.23:
Here is a little micro feature for you, the list of web panels is now scroll-able.
Now that we have scrollable web panels I think we can all agree (and maybe it's already on the kitchen's table) that it makes perfect sense to also have
separators
(for icon thematic separation)

@doctorg Doesn't work with Stable (Vivaldi 4.1.2369.21 / Chrome 92.0.4515.159) either, so no one will notice the difference

Bad news for those that use Dark Reader , as its inversion affects Vivaldi's new text translation popup as well, making it look transparent.
Now who's going to be the brave and report it to the extension's author and with what expectations...
Alternatively one can decide between using one of the two, both but getting used to a "semi-broken" & ugly state, or use the experimental dark mode in
vivaldi://flags
, which unfortunately provides a more "aggressive" to the eyes inversion.
