Usability improvement: bidirectional page loading
-
we know, time is money. so, frequently we read web page while it is loading, and even clicking on it, before the process finished. and bang! - another picture was loaded and shown up at the moment we moving the finger, and our click hit the point where it was not intended to get to. we say 'damn!', stop loading the next page, press 'back', wait for loading the previous page once more until it is finished and click again. next time, scenario is not so dramatic. we just reading some text, and it is moving down and down, pushed out by pictures above it, until it appears below the bottom of the screen. not very comfortable, right? the following suggestion is intended to avoid it. what if the page was scrolled down by user while it is still loading? then browser can extend the page with elements loaded later not only down from the very top, but down from the bottom of the screen and up beneath the top of the screen (i.e. visible part of the page). then visible elements of the page will not jump down suddenly, but will stay at their own places, thus our click won't miss its goal. even more, the browser can pull mouse position and extend page content relative to it: the upper part moving up, the lower part moving down. what do you think? pretty handy, and there is no browser which has similar feature. vi can be the first  Attachments:

Oh my god, thank you!
I definitely want this as a feature, and it's something that annoys me so much about web browsers.
It's not that Vivaldi has a huge problem with this like IE does, and Edge too, but I would love this feature.
You should write a bug report asking for this feature as well.

ok, I did. thank you for support!

This is a brilliant idea, I want this !!
This would be indeed an outstanding feature. But be carefull, this will cut the profits of mouse-manufacturers drastically, if only 10% of the people slam their mouse on their desk as I do it from time to time when I misclick on a loading webpage.

Oh, this is a lovely idea! :woohoo:
I can't tell you how often this has afflicted me on android mobile browsers! I haven't been aware of it happening to Vivaldi much but it would be great to see them leading the way to end this annoyance once and for all!

@RRR13:
You should send those pictures as well if you didn't already.
You can send them as an attachment when replying to the automatic e-mail you get after submitting the bug report.thank you, I did as you said.

finally, my idea has been realized?
https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2016/04/scroll-anchoring -
@Vladimyr Have you tried scroll anchoring in Vivaldi? Does it work as expected?
vivaldi://flags/#enable-scroll-anchoring
-
@Vladimyr Thanks for pointing that out, jumping sites annoy me to no end.
I just tested the flag on a horrid site with a load of pictures, it seems to work out so far.

Sometimes it seems working, sometimes not.
They said it doesn't affect javascrips scrolling,
probably it's the answer? I didn't plan any restrictions
