@ruarí First (finally)
-
@ruarí The changelog looks good. I have been waiting for this since Friday.
-
@pesala It was supposed to be on Friday. Had a couple of last minute issues
-

@ruarí "[Linux][Media] Proprietary media will not work in distros with an older glibc" is this permanent or a "bug to be fixed"?

[New][Bookmarks] Create special favicon for bookmarklets with protocol javascript: (VB-20247)
nice, appreciated
-
@tbgbe: I shall see what can be done. ololdstable for debian and Slackware 14.2 are the only two supported distros that I am aware of right now that have an issue. Slackware stable is about to update. They are in RC status right now. I expect that most people will update shortly afterwards. I am not sure how many really use oldoldstable debian as a desktop. Likely very few. So this might not be too bad of an issue in any case but I decided to mention, just in case.

This post is deleted! -
@ruarí Just that I got the message on my Mint 18.3

[New][Commands][Keyboard][Gestures] Add command for “Go to Parent Directory” (VB-82462)
I don't understand, in settings/keyboard/page/Go To Parent Directory I have a default key set as " " (one empty space?) and it's like that even if I restore the default key, what it's meant to be?
For now, I've set it as Ctrl-Backspace, works nicely so far.

Mint 18.3
18.3 is not supported by Mint. If you run it, you are not getting security updates from them. Update your distro!
-
-
Support ended in April 2021. It is probably unwise to run a distro that has not been receiving security updates for 4 (soon 5) months!
-
@ruarí True but there is no update path for KDE!
Only complete new install.

Nice changelog
[New][Bookmarks] Create special favicon for bookmarklets with protocol javascript: (VB-20247)
How does this one work in practice, exactly?
[New][Commands][Keyboard][Gestures] Add command for “Go to Parent Directory” (VB-82462)
What does "Parent Directory" mean in the context of a mouse gesture? For like web server directory listings? Or just go up one entry in the URL path, which is not always the same as "back"?
-
@tbgbe: Nonetheless, it is not a good idea to run that IMHO.

[New][Bookmarks] Create special favicon for bookmarklets with protocol javascript: (VB-20247)
How does this one work in practice, exactly?
bookmarklets are javascripts embedded in the bookmark url, some examples
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/54337/useful-bookmarklets
now such entries will have a distinct icon instead of a generic empty document icon[New][Commands][Keyboard][Gestures] Add command for “Go to Parent Directory” (VB-82462)
What does "Parent Directory" mean in the context of a mouse gesture? For like web server directory listings? Or just go up one entry in the URL path, which is not always the same as "back"?
back goes simply back in history, going to parent dir removes from the current url path one subdir at a time, independently from the history, example:
https://your.site.here/link.html will go to
https://your.site.here/subdir1/subdir2/page.html
with back you'll go back to https://your.site.here/link.html
with parent dir you'll go to https://your.site.here/subdir1/until this new update it was only possible by clicking with mouse click+control key on the exact subdir you wanted the url path to be cut, in the example by clicking on any char of the subdir1 part.

[New][QR][Commands][Keyboard][Gestures] Add an option to create QR codes more easily (VB-82045)
I tried associating Create QR code for Active Page to Alt+Q
press Alt+Q once, ok QR popup dialog appears. Press ESC or click anywhere else to close the QR dialog, now Alt+Q doesn't do anything anymore. -
Tab previews for tab stacks now appear in a tabular/grid formation rather than a vertical list.
Is there a switch to revert to previous behaviour?
