Zoom Slider Control Could be Easier to Use
-
Does anyone else agree with me that the slider controls for page zoom and interface zoom are too difficult to use? If I want 110% I will probably get 115% etc. A simple combo box with a few common values, and a field to enter any value would be better in my opinion. Suggested values for the combo popup: 50% 75% 100% 110% 125% 150% and 200% In my Serif programs for Web Design, Graphics, and DTP there is a zoom slider, but also a combo popup plus zoom in and zoom out buttons. This may be overkill for a browser. I would be happy with just a combo, or with a vertical slider, which would take less space on the interface, while being easier to control. Opera 12.17 has exactly this option, a combo box, which can replace the zoom slider.
It takes up less space and offers a full range of defaults from 20% to 1000% and a field where any value can be typed.
It takes less space, is much easier to use, and covers a wider zoom range. It may not be as pretty, but function triumphs over form.

I' have already suggested to implemented, at least the old behavior (hover the slider + scroll wheel), but what you suggest is also useful.

Mouse scroll on over the zoom slider to change in 10% steps and CTRL+scroll to change i 1% steps.
MMB click on the slider to reset zoom.That's how i see it.

Absolutely agree!
I like Firefox implementation. -
That is funny. I also have my zoom bar in Firefox on the top but in the top left corner, even higher than that, right next to the minimize and close buttons.
Nice to see I'm not the only one that finds that position the best place visually. I like to use the zoom allot, I zoom almost everywhere I have to write or read something and then zoom back out.
I would love to be able to manually type the zoom settings as well. While I would not use it that much, its very useful if you come from other applications that have zoom (and most let you input the zoom manually)
The slider could have some improvements, make it a bit faster or increase the settings in bigger chunks, it's a bit slow for my taste. They should increase the % chunks.

Same here. I am using RMB+scroll wheel for this so zoom indicator is very important for me.

@RRR13:
I use Ctrl+Scroll to zoom and I hate the fact that there is no Ctrl+Scrollwheel_click to reset zoom, like I could do in old Opera.
I really need that.Here it is https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/all/8453-bundle-js-modding

@RRR13:
Can that be made as an extension or something?
Exactly "reset zoom" can be implemented as an extension, but other patches cannot.
@RRR13:
I don't know and don't want to know where bundle.js is.
It's your choise.
