Solved How to Stop Websites From Asking to Show Notifications on Vivaldi 4
-
@drbonesaw Now seriously. I think that Vivaldi should not allow access to chrome://settings. Why Vivaldi Settings and Chrome Settings simultaneously? Do not make any sense. Like I said, Vivaldi should have only one Settings and should be Vivaldi Settings and block the access to chrome://settings.
-
Vivaldi doesn't incorporate all of Chromium's settings, yet. There are still some things you need to use Chromium settings to change.

@sgunhouse Which ones? I'm new to Vivaldi browser, but I didn't notice any chromium settings that couldn't find in Vivaldi settings.
-
Let me see, Fonts used to be one but it seems to work now. I'll have to look ...
-
@filipeazevedo One of the most obvious settings missing from Vivaldi is whitelisting cookies, you gotta open chrome settings for that. Clearing specific cookies is another thing, Vivaldi settings doesn’t clear all persistent storage cookies.
-
@luetage Agree, in fact I can not find whitelisting cookies in Vivaldi settings:
I don't know if I understood what you mean with "Clearing specific cookies...". In Vivaldi settings I can select the cookies that I want to delete:
However, you can do everything you say with the extension Cookie AutoDelete
-
@filipeazevedo Extensions are another topic altogether, we are comparing settings. Delete all cookies from Vivaldi settings, then visit chrome settings and check existing cookies. Storage cookies will still be there, they don’t show up in Vivaldi settings, at least some of them won’t.
-
@luetage Yeah, you are right, but deleting all cookies on Vivaldi settings just don't erase on chrome:/settings Site Data. I think that is easy for Vivaldi to solve this.
-
@filipeazevedo Might be, but you’ll never know when they come around to doing it. Could be years ☛ https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24235/better-cookie-management
-
@luetage Oh, I see.

@filipeazevedo Asking is just a dialog generated by the site, so it would be rather hard for Vivaldi to block that.
It still has to trigger something in the browser to open that popup which is part of the browser which in and of itself should be able to be dst keep hacking what I need fixingisabled.
I'm here to say you are absolutely correct… Everyone else doesn't understand that the browser is a program that is triggered and programmed to do everything it does. I've been hacking this stupid chrome facelift for six months. The only reason is I've got too mods to quit at the moment. This browser needs so many repairs it's sick. They hate me the Vivaldi team because there browser flaws are so many and so easy to point out.
Anyway I like your comment you're one of the smart ones thanks keep up the good work

@sgunhouse Vivaldi browser is like Windows 10. Windows 10 is Windows 7 with a mask and Vivaldi browser is Chromium with a mask. Nothing new, just the mask.
Not even close to accurate on either count, but especially wrong in regards to Vivaldi.
Windows 10 Settings (Windows 10) -> Painel Control (Windows 7)
chrome://settings (Chromium) -> Vivaldi Settings (Vivaldi)Differences: Just the mask!
There is so much more to Vivaldi than Chrome it's not even funny.
I disagree with you I come from pale moon and I'm experienced with browsers. I was tricked in my first download of Vivaldi saying it was for power users. The gazillions of settings in this browser are just bogus and the key ones are either missing or don't work. Chrome has no settings it's probably better considering Vivaldi settings are just a joke. I agree with the other gentleman saying that Vivaldi is just chrome wearing a mask. Try pale moon. Browsers are going down the tube. The only reason why I use pale moon is because I have extensions still working ripped from Firefox version 57. You cannot get them anymore. I've been hacking Vivaldi changing its delinquent settings for months.

@filipeazevedo Yes, that's from the website, not Vivaldi. Very little you can do about it.
Maybe you can create some kind of custom Adblocker rule or if you use uBlock Origin it won't show, I don't know.
Edit: I'm not able to trigger that popup on the page, maybe it only shows to PT users. Any special page it always triggers on?Edit2: I was able to trigger it. Really easy to block with uBlock element picker. Simple rule:
www.cmjornal.pt##.registerPush.notificacao
it would be better to hack Vivaldi to not show the pop up in the first place because U block only does it for the specific page. Any changes and it's back or any other page it's back. We want a permanent solution to never see do you want to leave this page. It's a nuisance it's ugly. If I click to close the page is it not obvious I want to leave. Vivaldi it's time to fix it. All my other browsers don't ask this ridiculous request. It's really annoying

@tech444 You are completely incorrect and know it. You only came to troll Vivaldi and nothing more.

If were talking about how to stop webpages from asking if you wish to leave it is built into Vivaldi and you are desperately brainwashed to think it's not. Go ahead try a decent browser and you will notice it does not exist.… For example I have pale moon also here and it does not exist would you please like to tell me why? Can you do that? Well can you… If pale moon wasn't forced by chrome trying to take over everything as you well know it would still be my number one browser. It works but cannot login to chrome-based proprietary sites that should be illegal. I can't change the world but chrome sucks. So much for browser companies working on the World Wide Web with independent projects. Chrome is putting them out of business and if anything you are a troll… You should be more polite and you know it what is wrong with you

@tech444 Dood, chill. It’s just a web browser.

Tech444's post really need to be removed. Or at minimum remove the ones referencing me.
