A quick fix to the previous snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2355.3
-
This is a quick fix to our previous snapshot, so that Chains accessed via custom application menus also work on macOS.

@ruarí Another bug bites the dust.
-
Just a small, quick update as it was a little frustrating to have a snapshot with menu support where the menu support did not work in the main application menu on macOS. Obviously just a few fixes happened since the last snapshot, since there was not many (working) hours between them and a lot of devs are on holiday at the moment.

Second.
Welcome fix for Mac users.

@ruarí Aah, another Snapshot's l(a)unch time
Thanks!

[User Agent] Add Mojeek to list of search engines that get the real User Agent (VB-65894)
I wonder if this will fix the frequent 403s I've been getting trying to search for URLs on that engine. Maybe their query parsing will be more forgiving when using the Vivaldi UA.
EDIT: I guess not...
https://www.mojeek.com/search?theme=dark&t=40&q=%22My%20sister%20lost%20her%20purse%20in%20the%20shopping%20mall%20yesterday%20when%20we%20went%20shopping%22
Gives a 403 Forbidden... -

Auto update via restart in toolbar works nicely -
@pathduck said in A quick fix to the previous snapshot – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2355.3:
ttps://www.mojeek.com/search?theme=dark&t=40&q=%22My%20sister%20lost%20her%20purse%20in%20the%20shopping%20mall%20yesterday%20when%20we%20went%20shopping%22
You should use a + for the space in a querystring of URL.
https://www.mojeek.com/search?theme=dark&t=40&q=%22My+sister+lost+her+purse+in+the+shopping+mall+yesterday+when+we+went+shopping%22
works nice//edit: But i know what you mean. Perhaps the issue is caused by a missing referrer at init request with search shortcut from address field.
-
@doctorg Haha, that won't help much if called from a search engine keyword, can't go around changing all spaces in a search string to
+
just so Mojeek won't barfI've said it before, Vivaldi should not encode spaces with
%20
but with+
, at least for search engine arguments. -
@pathduck add search and activate POST – works.
-
@doctorg Good thinking - it works!
Not all engines support POST though. But I think this is a problem for Mojeek first, their URL checking is way too strict. -
@pathduck The problem: Vivaldi does not have a mechanism to add search by a xml config from a website.

Hello,
I just updated one of my Arch Linux installations. Now when I try to run the snapshot version of Vivaldi I only get a solid white window.
When I run "vivaldi-snapshot" from the terminal emulator I get the following output.

I have this problem with the last two snapshot versions. I can start the current stable version of Vivaldi normally. Can anyone reproduce the problem?

Context menu and middle click don't work on some tabs.
Vivaldi 4.1.2350.3 (Official Build) snapshot (64-bit), Linux
-
Getting a full browser crash on "Job 1, '/usr/bin/vivaldi-snapshot' terminated by signal SIGTRAP (Trace or breakpoint trap)" after anywhere from 5 to 60 seconds of starting the 2355-3 snapshot on x86_x64 Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS. This still occurs in an empty tab with extensions flagged as disabled. This crash was not occurring on previous 2345.3. Sorry I cant really go into much more detail than this, as access to the x86_64-debug.zip for snapshots seems to be restricted.

@adamvirtue8: Same here (Win 10 64 bit, 64 bit Vivaldi 2355.3 (and I guess 2352.3 but not sure, because when I first updated yesterday (and got the crashes) I do not know if the latest snapshot 2355.3 was already live.). Had do downgrade to 2339.3. On my other machine (the one I am typing with right now: also Win 10 64 bit, 64 bit Vivaldi 2355.3) I got no problems with the newest version.

@fendar: Sounds like it might somehow be related to the hardware used. I'm encountering this issue on an Intel i5-6600.
