I've just installed previous update, thought I forgot to install it… -
[Spatial Navigation] Stopped working on pages with iframes (VB-81316)
Ah at last, some Spatial Navigation fixes!
-
@killchain: So are our users!
-
@ruarí This is great, I will enjoy messing around with the possibilities over the weekend!

Today’s snapshot provides configurable menu support for the Command Chain feature introduced in the previous snapshot.
@Ruarí @Pesala Thank you! Now let's see how much trouble I can get into.

Since two or three snapshots ago the tabs cannot be immediately closed by clicking on the X button (seemingly before animation finishes), is it possible to fix it? Or maybe bring back old animationless tab moving, few weeks ago it was changed to some sort of ugly rectangle if animations are disabled
-
@tsa-work No ugly rectangles here. If animations are disabled, tabs close instantly.
-
Vivaldi 4.1.2350.3 (Official Build) snapshot (64-bit), Linux
Reordering tabs is very slow, it's almost unusable (tab stacking is disabled):
Same issue when you select text and try to move it around.
Is this a known issue or should I create a bugreport?
-
A bit off-topic... but what's with the version numbering? Now everything is ending in xxxx.3, when before the suffix always told you if you were running the current snapshot (xxxx.10, xxxx.12, xxxx.37 etc.).
I have been confused by the last few snapshots since I literally kept thinking they were the same version!
-
The third number in the version is date on mainline, when the snapshot starts to stabilize they will branch it off and the third number will stop changing. The fourth number is build since that date. The different architectures and platforms may have the same build number or may vary slightly and on rare occasions may even be from the previous date.
The internal builds that we testers get are almost always off mainline and thus have a different mainline date every build. The snapshot builds when they've just released a new Stable will also be off mainline until they reach a point where they think they're ready for a new Stable, once they are "feature - complete" they will branch off mainline to fix the bugs for a new release.
Or at least, that's how Ruari explained it to us.

With the latest Snapshot we can add command chains to menus, assign shortcuts or mouse gestures to command chains and show the shortcuts on the menus. Rename the command chain or change the shortcut, and the menu updates automatically. The command chain can also be modified. My Enhanced Fullscreen command chain shows the Address Bar and Bookmark Bar in Fullscreen mode.

Hi there,
I am experiencing a crash few seconds after start on Win 10 x64 Enterprise. How can I generate and submit crash logs? -
This works fine for me, but the rest is slow, tab switching and closing, picking a category in options, well it's like using Vivaldi from virtual machine, browsing is fast but the rest is on delay.
It's not the CPU?

I am unable to assign a shortcut of Alt+V or Shift+V to a command chain to clone tabs vertically.
I can assign those shortcuts to other commands.
The command chain was cloned from one to clone tabs horizontally, in case that is the reason.
Edit: That is the reason. If I delete the cloned command chain and recreate it from scratch, I can assign shortcuts.
P.S. It would be nice if we could re-order the command chains in Settings, Quick Commands, with drag and drop, or using the context menu.
Bug reported as:
(VB-81476) Unable to assign shortcuts to cloned command chaings (sic)
-
@vvputin: Same for me, reinstalling didn't help. The problem will be in the profile.
-
@vvputin @morgoth It would be really nice if everybody who uses snapshots would read the blog post
Known Issues
If you have used sync in an earlier snapshot based on Chromium 92 (either on Desktop or Android), it might have created corrupted bookmark or notes entries and you will need to Clear Server Data. Affected users will have sync crash when trying to log out and log in again.Disconnect your computer from the internet, then start Vivaldi, disable sync, connect to the internet, log into sync and reset remote data.
Or use a device which has the stable version installed and reset server data there. -

Assigning shortcut is not obvious, how to do it? In the Keyboard section? Maybe it would be nice to have a shortcut option directly in the Command chains section?
-
@stardust Yes, in the Keyboard, Command Chains section, or one can execute them with mouse gestures, and add them to menus.
So it is best to define them in one place, then use them elsewhere.

@mossman: It does not work the way you think, and nothing has changed in the numbering for years. There is no change other than the change in you. You likely just did not pay attention to it before.
The end numbers generally only go up like that during the stablisation phase. Snapshots direct from master/main always had number in the 1-5 range all the way back to before Vivaldi 1 was released. In the last two weeks before a stable release, the XXXX part you mention becomes fixed and the end number only increases.
