Speed dial window
-
The most frustrating feature in Speed Dial window of Vivaldi is inability to use own images (jpg or png) for site icons. Old Opera 12 was more flexible in this respect. Could that feature be restored back - right mouse click on any icon in Speed Dial, then Open image from disk and use it instead of default image Vivaldi created?
-
Old Opera was not any more flexible in this respect. You still had to resort to various work-around to get custom Speed Dial images. You can do the same in Vivaldi — there's a thread somewhere — but it would be best to wait for a built-in solution to this problem.

Having custom previews is a relatively easy task, even easier if you have a local webserver running on your PC/LAN

The_Solutor,
Thank you for helpful advice. That works. I replaced Vivaldi string
"Thumbnail": "chrome://thumb/http://bookmark_thumbnail/1347?1455029217130"
with my own
"Thumbnail": "SDial/youtube.png"
for youtube site (png image of 246x148) and now it shows what I prefer.The only problem - manual editing of Bookmarks file is long and boring. But at least it works!

We will see the SD improvements after the V1 release. For now the priorities are on stabilization and bugfixing

I'd be fine if it used the icon files from the markup, like Opera 12 does (sometimes). Take http://arstechnica.co.uk/ for example. In the markup we have:
Those are both good candidates for speed dial icons, but they're not being used. Many big, popular websites have these.
