Panels, Tabs, Calendar and Mail improvements – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2339.3
-
Long list of fixes, nice. Let's try it out.

[Downloads][Panel] Poor performance caused by panel: partial improvement (VB-68202)
can someone elaborate on this one?
-
The recent import fix seems to be working. I wasn't able to import from M2 before. The import would just hang and nothing would import. Now the status bar is showing the import being performed. Looks like it could take a long time, but so far so good.

I believe when the downloads list is very long there will be a noticeable delay in opening the panels, even when the Downloads panel is not the active one. This probably comes from having to fetch the icon for each file type in the list from disk.
That's my guess at least. I've noticed it too but never bothered me much, I clear the downloads from time to time.

Thank you for Zoho Calendar... I await the stable version

@wildente: It seemed to work with importing everything. No crash for me. There were a few oddities that I might expand on in the thread you linked.
It seemed to vastly over-estimate how long it would take. I think there were something like 7000 emails and it indicated it would take 19h. But it took closer to 20 minutes, if that.

@ruarí Little disappointed that the bug with dragging shortcuts to the desktop is still there. I saw the change note about auto-complete on the address bar and thought this was it.
It's a very simple fix. All that's needed is to append a CR/LF to the end of the URL in the file.
No dice yet.

There is a regression in the minimise/maximise buttons on the xfce desktop environment. It works though with 2 clicks on title bar.

There's a very subtle thing that's old Opera Presto had and make things feels more snappy; is handling almost all middle-click event in the DOWN event (instead of UP event) ... so, it makes the action when you are still middle-clicking something. That's is very cool idea. Hope that idea could come to Vivaldi

Oh! Finally!
I was starting to get worried… -
[Address bar][Linux] Using the middle click to close vivaldi://startpage/ tab pastes clipboard content (VB-79118)
Thanks for the quick fix!
-
no news regarding broken OPML import I assume?
-
[Tabs] Pinned tabs take up too much space on move (VB-80681)
Yes! Thank you.
[Quick Commands][Keyboard][Windows][Linux]] Add Ctrl+E as additional default (VB-80836)
I'm a bit flabbergasted that this only just became a thing for Windows and Linux, since in macOS,
cmd+E
has been the default for a really long time (I dare say since quick commands were introduced). -
Single key shortcuts still not working on Linux.
-
a profile selector at startup? wow!
-
I got 3 force closes in less than 30 minutes on Windows. No error message or whatever, and I can't link it to a specific activity (yet); Vivaldi just shuts down.

Latest snapshots all have an issue with the address bar for me. For the longest time new tabs would automatically clear the address bar and let you start anew. Now the typed text carries over to new threads. I miss when it would clear if I hit a new tab.
That and again, the left side of the browser doesn't register mouse input. The address button & Vivaldi button at the top, as well as the panel button on the bottom work fine and register mouse hover even, but everything in-between below the address bar and above the status bar doesn't register on the very left pixel of the browser. I can't think of any extenstions that would break these at once.

This snapshot broke sound on mp4-videos, be them imbedded or opened in new tab. Image-feed is fine, but doesn't play audio. The volume button is even greyed out.
