You can use a few ways:
Ctrl+D
Click the icon in the address bar
Create new bookmark directly in the bookmarks manager manually -
Yeah, took me a moment, too, to get that done properly.
Still a bit cumbersome: I have my bookmarks in an extended folder hierarchy. Adding a new one in there means finding the folder name in the droplist. But this is too long and doesn't show nesting properly(*), so finding the correct one is - well, cumbersome. Are there plans to support the old opera style (having 'add bookmark here' in the bookmark tab lists at some point?(*)It also seems it somehow remebers all folders that ever existed, even if they have been deleted - quite irritating

In a related vein, I'm having trouble figuring out how to add a new folder - every time I try to add a folder to the Bookmarks Panel, it gets added to whichever folder is already highlighted - it would be helpful if I could right-click the panel and add an independent folder.
Oddly enough, in previous versions I thought I could do this, but now… can't figure it out! :S

I highlight the speed dial folder, right click, and add new folder.
Is that what you are trying?
