No messages in this view or view loads in Vivaldi Mail Client

Good morning everyone, after I read yesterday that the mail client is finally here I wanted to try it out right away. I added my private mail account without any problems. My GSUITE account with its own domain after some tinkering. Now I get in the mail client but no mails displayed. I only get an empty page. What am I doing wrong?

@jas0nger You have to have selected a view/folder that has mail in it. I looks as though nothing is selected in your images.

I have essentially the issue, having just created my first mail account, I have nothing but a blank window. None of the icons are active, clicking on them does nothing. I sent an email to myself from a different account and received a notification that it was received, but it does not appear. I never received a confirmation email when I setup the account. I feel like I missing something obvious, but I can not figure out what it is.

@charles218 You don't have your mail, feeds and calendar icons turned on in the panel. You have to select a folder with mail in it, but you can't because you need the mail icon in the panel to see the mail folder list.
Right-click the panel and you should be able to check the boxes for the missing icons.

Thanks for the responses, however nothing that I do, including right clicking, has any affect. Everything remains exactly as it looks in the screenshot that I posted. The only sign of life that I get is when I hover over the Reply, Forward, Trash, etc. icons and the icon function is revealed. Still stumped.

The same thing happens to me. I can see mails by clicking mail icon on the bottom-left corner.
After a few hours, I find some newly arrived mails are listed in the left panel. I could not find any previously arrived mails. This was on Vivaldi 4.0.2312.25 (Stable channel) (x86_64)on macOS 10.15.7.
Thanks. -
I don't see a mail icon at the bottom of the window, if you have a minute could you post a screenshot. Hopefully someone has some idea of how to proceed to fix this.

I am not sure, but is it possible that we are talking about two different email programs? At some point I saw a setup for creating and using "[email protected]", is that different than what I get when I go to Tools - Mail? I was finally able to see a test email that I sent to myself by clicking on the popup notification that came up when I sent an email to myself using an external email program. When I clicked on the notification I was taken to the same screen as I posted in the third post on this thread. But this time I could see the email that I had just sent, so that is progress.
Now I have three tabs open, each with the mail window showing and each has a different combination of sent and received emails. This is all very confusing, I'm having a great deal of trouble tracking what is happening. It is possible that there is a bug?

@charles218 ah the joys of beta. There is a known bug with email sent to yourself / problems with not showing correctly when an email is both in sent and in received of any of your accounts.
Also, just to be sure, there is also https://webmail.vivaldi.net which is not the same as the integrated email client in the browser, but an email address/account that Vivaldi offers to you as a service to be used either via webmail or any email program of your choice, including the one included in the Vivaldi browser
