New user, immediate problems…
-
Installed 1.0.303.52 (Beta) (64-bit) under OSX 10.10.5 (14F1021) and it only took a few minutes for the browser to crash when installing uBlock plugin. When I tried to play a number of Youtube videos, kept getting error message and videos didn't play. Not impressed, you need to up your game if you plan to stay around... ps. posted in Firefox, which works...

No point in being snippy. Hundreds of thousands of people are using the browser, problem-free for all intents and purposes, on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10, Linux of all flavors, and OSX. I personally run it on 8 different machines of all ages and OSes without difficulty. That's not to say everyone is equally sanguine.
You might want to try the latest snapshot, which is several iterations newer than the first Beta. You can find it at https://vivaldi.net/
and it resolves a number of bugs, including some particular to OSX. -
I did my first installation of your product last night, so I assume I downloaded and installed the latest version from the link provided, if not the latest that is another fail on your behalf…

Yeah. I assumed you assumed that. That's why I informed you where to find the latest version.
I don't work for Vivaldi. I'm just a plain old user like yourself (except, of course, for the fact that I use the browser as my default, and do my testing, give my feedback, and make my needs known without getting deprecatory of the development team, who are making the first browser I have liked since the death of Opera Presto, who are always polite to me, and whose efforts don't cost me a penny…)
But, hey. If you can find a crew member to criticize directly, I'm sure they'll "up their game," because nothing motivates a professional like being scowled at by some random know-it-all who just walked in the door with their nose in the air, yeah?
You have a nice day, now.

Life is far too short, Vivaldi now in the trash can…
Mods please delete this account as it's no longer needed.

Thread is a prime example to see what happens when 2 different poisonous types of users clash. It just gets ugly.
I give you something on the way Ayespy. Maybe you'll understand it one day.
Where you can't love – pass by. -
I would differ with you that I am any kind of "poisonous" user. For you to label me such, and to further imply that I lack self-awareness, evinces a lack of circumspection and care in your own comment.
Buuut…
Normally I do pass by a nasty comment if I can't be constructive. If I can't say anything nice, I usually won't say anything. But I must confess the hubris of some folks finds its way under my skin. And if i'm already in a foul mood for some unrelated reason, my patience will be exceeded.
My primary aim here is to HELP, and I'v been doing it since the browser first saw the light of day. You will note that for every 7.5 comments I make, one receives a "thank you." Certainly not everyone I help thanks me by clicking the button (perhaps they don't know about it or don't notice it) even though they will do so by comment in reply, but enough do that I lead all commenters in "thank you's."
That said, I still tend to feel a bit guilty if I haven't been nice to someone. Still, if a person comes right in the door heaping contempt upon the team we're trying to help here, without even making any effort to figure out what's going on, what are they to expect? If I don't object, someone will, sooner or later. Some feel they have a license to be derogatory to everyone. But their words matter.

You should simply ignore any stupidity and act politely and never say the user was an idiot or acted aggressively.

This just makes you look like as much an asshole as the OP.

Not really, An_dz, especially if you know my history at all, which most everyone here does. Still, you're right. I should let the comments of idiots go unremarked. There is no profit in talking to them at all, a point which I have made myself more than once.

Yeah, but an outsider, a newcomer, don't know you. And even the ones who do may lose respect towards you. But I'm glad you understand my point.
