Arch users don't mention Vivaldi + Pls V-Devs never do to us what FF-Devs are doing to their users.

I emphatically share the majority viewpoint of the comments -- i deliberately use Compact Mode in FF-Nightly, & regard their Devs' potential decision as idiotically perverse.
Yep! Mozilla wants to remove yet another useful feature (Compact Mode)
Seems like Mozilla don't care about their users at all.I will never forgive them for the removal of the option to disable tab close button

Is it not even still in about:config anymore?
nope

here are some more Arch stats for you -> https://pkgstats.archlinux.de/fun
Vivaldi's position: (wouldn't want to spoil it): https://pkgstats.archlinux.de/packages#query=vivaldi
you may click on the package to see the trend, also in comparison to the chinese browser.
Maybe more Arch' Vivaldians should be running pkgstats helping V.

@guigirl hah, I've used Arch in the past so I just happen to know that (too ). Thanks for the compliment but I'm just a common little power user like you, there are far more amazing Vivaldians than me here
About pkgstats I let that open on purpose for you to decide. Personally I run it, but don't tell that to hardcore Archians (impure data, impure!!) -
I am thinking they just don't want to fix that ugly address bar selection in the Compact Mode. So they came up with idea of removal the whole Compact Mode.

It IS ugly, innit?
Yep, and the selection overlaps the tab bar! Thus those cute compact tabs look ugly!
Nevertheless, deleting this option is idiotic, especially given it's based on a bogus guess!

Putting on a load of dirty clothes in the washing machine is so boring - deleted.
You could have added a pot of paint - new colour schemes are always cool

Latest Nightly:
Compact mode (not supported). Well done Mozilla.
Drop-down bookmark menu is not compact anymore
Dark theme (when using unsupported compact mode) is kinda nice though:
