Tab cycler with right mouse button & wheel not working
-
As far as I know tab cycling should work with the settings below with right mouse button + wheel. But it only works when I press the ALT key on the keyboard and use the wheel. I also tried unchecking all options, close and restart Vivaldi and set it new. Still no workie workie with the right mouse button (while I rotate the wheel the page scrolls up and down, and when I release the RMB the context menu opens). Version 3.8.2238.3
Bug?

@WildEnte Tab cycling with RMB+Wheel works fine here, on Win10. It also works with Alt held down. I tested with both my wireless and wired mouse.
It should work with those settings.
Are you able to reproduce in a clean profile?
-
Yes, I renamed the User Data folder, started up Vivaldi, clicked through the standard first run topics, went to settings to enable the tab cycler (as in screenshot above), opened a few tabs. Same behavior: works with the ALT key, does not work with RMB.
Ah well. I can live without it.

@WildEnte You never said your OS. Win10 or older?
What about trying in a clean profile of Vivaldi 3.7 Stable?
3.8 is a snapshot for testing after all. Maybe you've found a bug, and you should report it if you're able to consistently reproduce in a clean profile.
Please read:
carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker.
Be sure to include details on your system including your mouse and its connection to the system (wired/wireless) etc.

@Pathduck yes sorry should have mentioned that. Dell XPS15 9570, Windows 10, MS Bluetooth mouse. Same result also with a standalone install of 3.7 stable. I also tried a wireless mouse with a USB receiver, same thing.
It just tried - the RMB + wheel works on the same system with the same mouse in my Virtualbox Linux Mint running Vivaldi snapshot 3.8.2238.3

And today I wrote this to the bug email:
Folks, close this bug, it was completely my fault.
I totally forgot that I had the program xMouseButtonControl installed a long time ago for a reason I cannot remember. I found out about it by accident today while uninstalling another program, uninstalled it too and - voila, this bug is no more.
I am very sorry I ever thought it was you
WildEnte
P.S.: please don't deprioritize my other bug reports because of this fail, in particular when they are about M3 or the calendar

Just in case anyone else uses XMouseButtonControl XMBC and has the same problem, I have taken this to their forum
https://forums.highrez.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4431EDIT: very easy to fix. If you use XMBC, go to "Settings - Make scroll wheel scroll window under cursor" and turn it off. works like a charm.
