Spam, Junk postings, Ads make blogs unreadable
-
With so much Spam and ads in the blogs now they are almost not worth the trouble anymore. One must navigate through 6 + pages of ads to get to a blog. Can you not filter some of these as many are just copies of one ad? I vaguely recall my.opera had similar issues. Here's hoping things get cleaned up.

Hi greybeard,
thanks for reporting. Yes, it's a huge problem and every day we removed a few hundreds spam blog posts. We are trying to find the best solution for this issue.

We've been trying to find a good balance to keep spammers out without restricting or annoying legitimate users. This morning we added more behind the scenes safety checks, and should see less spam from now on.

hello greybeard and everyone
in the thread "Leaving" RJules3 about community undesirable posts indicates "If there's more than one, select 'Hide updates from this user' and all of the posts will fly away as if transported on magic carpets." -
Hi, i_ri,
There is no 'Hide updates' available on the Blog page even though it desperately needs one. It looks like there is some fresh Turkey droppings there now:-.
https://vivaldi.net/userblogs'Hide updates' is available and works fine on the old Everyone front page of the Community and the 'new' Unity page:-
https://vivaldi.net/en-US/unity
https://vivaldi.net/easysocial-dashboard/everyoneWhen you hide content from your view of the list you will have the option to Undo the action until you logoff or leave the page, after that your guess is as good as mine how to pull something out of the Bozo bin because I have no idea where the list of hidden users/content for the Everyone page is kept or how to access it.

steinar, Shpankov,
Many thanks for your replies. I know this must be a difficult issue for the site admins. All their work is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
P.S.
I will attempt the method posted below. -
Thank you, MoonDawg! :woohoo:
Now I don't have to break into a cold sweat if I accidentally refresh the page after hiding something from the list!
-
Well the new anti-spam methods are certainly going to be effective !
Is there a way to exempt trusted users from restrictions after a certain number of posts, eg. when they become "Elite Member"?
I can no longer update some of my old forum posts due to the recent link limit, and now after using the blogs for so long, it was a bit of a surprise to have to wait for my blog posts to be moderated.
I tend to do lots of re-edits when I am updating certain pages, which will make previously checked posts invalid.
