Speed Dial Button
-
Are there plans to include a speed dial button in the address bar? Or perhaps a keyboard/mouse shortcut to return a tab to the speed dial. Opening new tab to access sped dial is a bit cumbersome Thanks much in advance

Seems like a good idea, so it will probably be offered in time.
In the meantime, you can bookmark it: chrome-extension://mpognobbkildjkofajifpdfhcoklimli/components/startpage/startpage.html on your bookmarks bar which gives you the option to open it in current tab, open it in new tab, or open it in background tab.

From day one of the very first Vivaldi release I requested this function be added like Opera was already doing. I've mentioned it before and I've even asked only the other day how to force the home button to link to the speed-dial. I don't understand why Vivaldi ignores such simple but important functions. Opera didn't just put these types of options on their browser for nothing and I'd expect Vivaldi to have such features almost from day one. Vivaldi can make screens split (seen first on Konqueror and Maxthon and thus nothing new) and jump through hoops but they cannot give you a speed-dial button or an option to make the speed-dial your home-button. Not only that but we still cannot have a speed-dial that doesn't lose its dials even in this beta stage. I'm a hardened Opera user because it works so well for me and its very reliable but I attempted to give the beta vivaldi a good go but it failed when the dials dropped yet again! I just cannot understand why Vivaldi keep slacking on key areas and putting someone like myself with logic off using the browser and sticking with Opera. I'm not going to jump into Vivaldi and put up with an inferior product just because its an old opera team or has an extra feature I don't actually use or care about. Vivaldi needs to give us all the basic features WORKING before all the bells and whistles. I'm personally very disappointed with the Vivaldi team.

Fellow Opera user I find it awfully strange how when I've mentioned Vivaldi needs a speed-dial button or access with the home-button you've disliked my critic of Vivaldi but this time you think it's a good idea. Of course it's a good idea and that's exactly why Opera has always used a speed-dial button.
