Unable to install 64 bit beta on desktop or 32 bit on a laptop. Keeps saying install.
-
I have downloaded the deb package but had no success installing the browser. The software center seems to install but keeps indicating Install over and over. The icon shows in Dash but clicking does nothing. I get the same indication trying the 64 bit on a desktop using Ubuntu 14.04 and a laptop using Ubuntu 15.04. Very confusing.

Try "sudo dpkg -i vivaldi-xxx.deb" in the terminal.
-
I have tried your suggestion: sudo dpkg -i vivaldi-xxx.deb Below are several versions I tried.
sudo dpkg -i vivaldi-beta.deb
sudo dpkg -i vivaldi-beta-1.0.303.52-4.deb
sudo dpkg -i vivaldi-1.0.303.52-4_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i vivaldi-beta-1.0.303.52-4-amd64.deb
All resulted in error message. More suggestions please. -

I get the same error for each input above:
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
Errors were encountered while processing
vivaldi-beta.deb and each of the other attempts I made. The file I downloaded is in my download folder and on the desktop. How do I point to the file location or must I move the file to another location.
Thanks for your help. Please do not give up on me. -
ok,
fire up a terminal and cd to the folder/desktop you download vivaldi.
For example:cd desktop
than type
sudo dpkg -i vivaldixxx.deb ```it must be the name of the version you downloaded, or type vivaldi and press [tab] to autocomplete the filename.

Below is the terminal output.
