@varsha Should have written the title as "21 tab tricks to get you started in '21"
-
This is absolutely great. I routinely use many of these tricks, but not all. I'll be sure to try them out.
Thanks! -
Some good advice there!
I really wish the Quick Commands got some more love, to allow it be used to manage a lot of tabs efficiently. Basically, it should work like the Window panel, allowing stacking of tabs in a tree-like view, closing of tabs and so on.
It would necessarily need to be taller (and maybe wider) to accomplish this, which can be done in a CSS mod, but really if users are to use QC more than today it needs to be better at handling a lot of tabs.

@tbgbe: Damn. Missed that detail.

Do we have to wait for 2022 until you guys implement tab scroll? Was it left out on purpose because the number 21 holds a special meaning to Vivaldi devs? Is this all some kind of conspiracy? I will be watching this space vigilantly.

I must be in an elite minority because i use 3-4 tabs at the most but it is nice to have these tab functions in a browser if i so needed them.
I know some users have 50+tabs open at one time so this functionality will be very much welcomed by those, but for minority users like myself it may not be such a neccessity.

@guigirl yes that could be useful but of course the numbers may vary so it could not be accurate but it would give a ball park indication of tab usage.
-
@guigirl Eh, you will have to come up with better remarks to trigger my thumb. I feel a little disappointed right now.
-
@Priest72 You ran right into itβ¦
-
@luetage Maybe third time will be "the charm"??
-
@guigirl: I wish web panels were just another tab, but in a panel - that way you get all the features like extensions and zoom, but also have the persistence of the web panel. It's the one reason I don't use it as much as I normally would.

#17! Learn something new everyday, thanks!
-
@xadium Nothing has happened with web panels for ages. And yeah, at the moment they are just a far inferior version of tabs, unusable for most fields of application.
-
@guigirl: Renaming of tab stacks is now enabled by default. Thanks for pointing this out. Fixed.
-
Introduction of Two-Level Tab Stacks (in my opinion) - the best single thing Vivaldi guys did! I dreamed about such a setup for four years - and it finally came to be - and exactly as I've imagined it! Don't know if browser fanboyism is a thing, but I'm definitely a Vivaldi fan
-
@guigirl Dunno if I'll bear so much awesomeness

Hi!
How can I Disable Auto Tab-Stacking?
I want to use 2 level tab stack only manuallyUnsetting "open tabs in current tab stack" option - don't setting off the auto tab stack.
-
@summoner In Settings > Tabs > New Tab Position, have you enabled 'As Tab Stack with Related Tab'? If you have, try a different option and see if things get better then.
