Vivaldi takes tabs to the next level, literally

Congratulations on the new release, Two-Level Tab Stacking seems to be a great new feature.
Since I don't see any mention of it in the changelog: Has VB-75651 also been fixed with this release?Because of that bug, I couldn't use Vivaldi for the last few weeks, because it kept constantly crashing. But I really miss my favorite browser and hope to be able to use it again now with 3.6.

Thank you. This looks great and very useful.

[UI] Use page title for URLs dragged to desktop (VB-3716)
still broken, try this URL

@mangold: maybe the wrong bug with the same bug content?
VB-47827 "Windows Desktop shortcut gets wrong name after drag from address field"

@hellbillydeluxe: Hi, the issue looks to be https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1136880, and will hopefully be fixed soon

@Aronand Hi, thank you for letting me know, I appreciate it.

The two-tier tab stack is a nice idea, but it creates it's own problems.
When switching between stacked tabs and single tabs the address and bookmark bar are moving up and down all the time. I like my interface to be relatively static, so that I can use muscle memory.
Also, the tabs in the secondary tab bar are aligned left. If the stacked tab in the main tab bar is situated in the middle or on the right that creates additional mouse travel. Also, when the two-tier tab stacks are enabled, hovering over the currently selected stacked tab in the main bard does not show thumbnails for the tabs in that stack. I would consider this a regression as it removes one way to easily switch between the tabs in the stack.

@esque: There is a small padlock icon on the second row which allows you to lock it, avoiding the "moving up and down". Hope this helps.
-
@atlemo: That helps a bit. Thank you.

DOPE! I hardly use stacks before. Things will be different from now on. Vivaldi team, thanks!
-
I added my Gmail account in the Mail client but after indexing 150000 messages the Mail client crashed on the next Vivaldi startup. The Mail client seems to work okay with fewer messages though.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Also happens on (my) Linux.
The multiple selection seems to happen on alternate/random(?) selections. -
Pretty good but really laggy on my beefy PC.
-
I was waiting for this feature for years! I recently switched to Opera because they have a feature like this, but this time, welcome back Vivaldi!
-
Now (finally) tab stack is really usable.
-
Great, I really like the two-row tab bar!
I think the default tab width should be customizable so that I can widen tabs.

Too much annoying features for working focusedly
Then simply disable it in Settings & pretend it never happened. Simple.
Your wonderful and simple solution would eliminate roughly 60% of the complaints on this very forum and i share your sentiment, turn it off and never use it and move on.

very nice add on!
I like also that we can still decide between compact and 2 level stack tabs!
I noticed that when I have too much tabs in a stack, I can't see all of them with the tab preview (I hope it's the right translation of the function), with the last version I could scroll the previews with the mouse wheels, while now they simply don't fit inside the broswer window and I can't scroll.
Is there an hidden settings to check this function or can i ask to have it back? -
