Nextcloud CalDAV can't log in
-
I can't add my nextcloud calendar using caldav. Error is: Check your credentials and try again.
I verified my credentials. I tried both URLs from the nextcloud calendar page (primary and mobile address).
I also tried the troubleshooting: delete Default/Calendar file.
Console shows 401 unauthorized when it tries to open the link with the https auth prefix - i can open the same link in the browser without trouble.Additionally I want to propose you add nextcloud as one of the preset calendar providers in the dropdown so one can simply enter the nextcloud domain and the rest is handled automatically.

It works perfectly for me, hm.
Are you using
https://<URL>/remote.php/dav/calendars/<USERNAME>/
? This should be the default one. -

https://<URL>/remote.php/dav
copy ios/macos caldav address:
https://<URL>/remote.php/dav/principals/users/<USERNAME>/
Neither work (HTTP 401, which hints at an issue with authentication). I tried your suggested URL too, it doesn't work for me either. I tried setting my password to a simple alphas only pw just for testing, which didn't work either. Again, the same URL with HTTP auth
https://<NCNICK>:<NCPW>@<URL>/remote.php/dav
does work even when I'm not logged in, e.g. usingcurl
.
I used nextcloud 19, but just updated to 20. No change.arch linux. sway. opera 12. vivaldi-snapshot.
I'm even using the exact same environment as you, lol.

@HarHarLinks 401 does not sound like you have used a wrong link... hum!
Anyway, can you access the link with a browser? For me, it showsThis is the WebDAV interface. It can only be accessed by WebDAV clients such as the Nextcloud desktop sync client.
(which I would expect it to show for you as well).I'm not sure if you have tried the full
https://<URL>/remote.php/dav/calendars/<USERNAME>/
(exchanging the TLD / IP and the respective calendar's $USER) PLUS your credentials. But I would not expect this to work for me and not for you...I'm even using the exact same environment as you, lol.
That's quite something. And your account is 21 minutes older than mine. Found you, my twin
-
@jumpsq Yep, it shows the same for me.

Im facing this issue too. apache access.log shows 401. Caldav-Syncronizer for Outlook works perfectly but Vivaldi does not.
Could it be a problem if nextcloud is not resisting at rootdir? for example:
https://url/nextcloud
Im syncing to Android too and had no issues with it.
-
@ThreeM Did you go to DAVx⁵ an verify the link?
I use nginx, do you so as well? Possibly the issue is apache related. Just a wild guess. -
@jumpsq Yes i did. Twice. After a restart and do the same again, Vivaldi said: "Konto erstellt" (Account created) but... there is no Calender if im going to create a entry.
-
I'm having problems too.
Name: My Calendar
Account type: CalDAV
CalDav URL: https://cloud.XXXXXXX.com/remote.php/dav/calendars/XXXXXX/personal/
Username and password same as to access https://cloud.XXXXXXX.comResult: "Check your credentials and try again".
Server logs have PROPFIND requests with 401 responses.
Same credentials work fine to add calendar to Thunderbird's calendar, and DAVx⁵ on my phone.
Apache server, Linux desktop.

I just updated to today's snapshot 3.5.2115.21 (VB-74504), the issue persists.
-
Updating to 3.5.2115.31 fixes the problem for me
If you enter a specific calendar URL, only that one gets added. If you specify the URL ending with your username, all calendars for your username are added.
There was a brief issue with an HTTP AUTH popup appearing. I just closed it without typing anything in.
Add one calendar: CalDav URL: https://cloud.XXXXXXX.com/remote.php/dav/calendars/USERNAME/CALENDARNAME/
Add all calendars: CalDav URL: https://cloud.XXXXXXX.com/remote.php/dav/calendars/USERNAME/
-
Still not working for me on 3.5.2115.31.
Also, where do you get these URLs? My nextcloud tells me to use
- primary caldav https://nextcloud.XXXXXXX.com/remote.php/dav
- apple caldav https://nextcloud.XXXXXXX.com/remote.php/dav/principals/users/USERNAME/

Hi,
From settings in calendar page I also got the credecials question.
But from menu tools/settings it worked to enter the Nextcloud url for callenders (same as in Evolution). All my 4 calendars worked so far.
But on next start of Vivaldi I got a query to Nextcloud credentials every 30 seconds. Finally I deleted the calendars to get rid of it. -
@HarHarLinks Same here. No Nextcloud Calendar with Vivaldi. Maybe we have to accept that this feature is in beta state.
-
@Fonant Spoke too soon, I now get HTTP AUTH popups appearing for my Nextcloud server at regular intervals, and they won't stop even if I type in the correct username and password.
On logging in via the web interface, I see "We have detected multiple invalid login attempts from your IP. Therefore your next login is throttled up to 30 seconds.". So it looks like Vivaldi Calendar is trying, but failing, to log in.
-
I have also a problem with CalDav on my Nextcloud server, cannot log in
-
@yaute Yes, it has broken again, having worked for a short while.
