Open new tabs in backround
-
Hi everyone, while reading a web page I ususally open new links in packround to read them later. For that purpose I use left mouse klick and "open link in new tab". The problem is that the new tab is opened in front. But I want to have them opened in backround because I want to stay at the active web page. I remeber that at opera I could modify this behaviour, but I found no option for the vivaldi browser. Any suggestions? Regard from Germany.

I'm facing the same issue as well. Every time I open a tab, the browser is opening the page of the new tab in foreground.
There doesn't seem to be an option to change it. Ideally it should be in the Tabs option in Settings, but it's not available. -

When I right click on a link, I get the option to either open it in a new tab or a new background tab. I remember this being added to the context menu a few versions ago. Are you on the most recent release of Vivaldi? (1.0.258.3)

Thx to all!!!

I have the following version: 1.0.219.50 (Entwickler-Build) (32-Bit)
I've downloaded it just a day ago from the offisial website.
Btw: I realized that I got the 32bit version. Are there any important pros for the 64bit version?
Regards.

Keep using the 32 bit version. But get the latest snapshot.

@RRR13:
[..]
Your version is the latest technical preview, but not the latest snapshot. The latest snapshots are available on the Vivaldi team blog: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/teamblogI installed the last snapshot, now I've got the option to open a new site in backround. Btw.: the new option is in english while my Vivaldi is set to German language.
Thx again for the help, the new option is helpfull, but the middle button mouse click is a great idea, it was new to me.
Regards.

I am heavily use such type of search - copy text and then middle click.
It uses the first search engine and opens a new tab.
Today (trying to migrate from Opera) I found out that it does not work((((- currently middle click opens a new tab not near the used one but at the end of tabs.
Vivaldi 1.0.303.22 (Developer Build) dev (64-bit)
