5 things you should know about dark mode

@jamesbeardmore: Sure, hipsters, why not. I've been called worse!
I think that LibreOffice allows you to actually change the colours of it's interface. It's been a long time since I've used LibreOffice, so I may be remembering wrong. I currently use WPS as my Linux office suite, and the closest thing it has in this regards is a "night mode" and "eye strain" setting, which dims it's interface for easier reading in low light conditions.

@dbouley , yes, I have it in the same color scheme as the rest, clear letter on a black background

There are other issues for me than dark modes although I do like to switch occasionally.
I am not fond of Windows Accessibility options for the visually impaired, I have it set to darken at low light but that is it.
More concerning to me are the use of "Skinny Fonts" and the pastels colours of many webpages makes me use Reader more often.
Terminal modes are different for PoweShell and the Command Prompt are different and are different for Admin and local user modes (usually variations on a dark blue background with yellow foreground and a strong looking font). -

As I said upthread, Amstrad chose exactly those colours for being easy on the eyes yet clear to read:
Ahhh... fond memories!

Why not use "filter invert" which is already included in 'page actions'? It works better if you are accessing a white background page. I use it late when using G Docs.
And, ..., f.lux of course.

I am currently using the Vivaldi browser and it is my best browser.
of course I also use the dark theme and I am very pleased. -
For me dark mode is better for my eyes cos i hate bright white light even when i sleep i want it to be pitch black

In same sites I use a style with a lighter dark to differentiate topics:

Dark mode please! I love Vivaldi, but find the lack of dark mode a bit irritating. One extension I tried did NOT work on several sites and the current one, Night Eye wants to shake you down for money. SO if it pleases the developers and powers that be, dark mode. I have myself (a senior citizen) and my granddaughter that is virtual learning. The dark mode is so much easier on the eyes!

@kathyblanchard Try some of the Page Actions like Filter Sepia, or Filter Invert.
Reader View is customisable, but does not work everywhere.

I kinda like using light themes during the day, and dark themes during the night hours. My eyes are thanking me and I never get bored with just one mode.
