@priest72: Unfortunately my Amigas (500 & 3000) are long gone, but I like to remember 'the good old times' with Pb Fantasies on iOS. As a gfx demo the Cinemaware games like Defender of the Crown were impressive
-
@hilumcool the graphics of cinemaware games were indeed very impressive..rocket ranger is my favourite and i still have the original box lol.
i got 2 amiga500's off ebay for £50 each. -
@Priest72 , I loved King of Chicago.
-
@jon That is a very impressive collection of amiga's indeed. The A1000 in particular is quite collectable.
-
@Priest72 , for me this is a question of computers that are special to me. I loved the Amiga. I had it as I was starting to program more and more. I was learning how to program the Amiga at the same time as I was programming X Windows on Unix computers. A lot of similarities. A lot of fun.
I also have a bunch of other computers, such as Commodore, Sinclair, Atari, etc.
I guess this is a bit of hobby for me.
-
@jon My first computer was the sinclair zx81 and then a 48k spectrum which was good 8-bit fun. Then the amiga came along and the jump in graphics and sound was incredible and was affordable too..Sadly it vanished out of sight and most see it as a relic now.But my childhood was so much more enjoyable because of these computers.
-
@jon C64; that was my start. First with Datasette, then Diskdrive - not the small Disks - 5,25″! It's hard to imagine today. Anyway - it was a good time.
-
@Priest72 , my first computer was also the Sinclair ZX81. I had the 16k RAM pack. I remember writing programs, without saving to cassette, and loosing a lot of work when I would move the computer in such a way that it would reset...
I also had the Spectrum. First the 16k for a few days. Then updating to the 48k one.
After the Spectrum I moved on the to the Sinclair QL. Great computer! Os was in ROM. 48k. Multitasking OS. Came with a full office suite on microdrive.
Then it was an Atari ST for a week and thereafter Amiga.
-
@Ice007 , Indeed. So much fun.

[Tabs][Regression] Ungrouping a tab stack ungroups all tab stacks (VB-73018)
Hey, it's my bug report! I know the tracker is private and all, but it would be nice to have it send "closed" messages, like "Closed in next snapshot" or "Closed as duplicate of VB-XXXXX".

First
-
@jon what are specs of your main PC and what OS do you use?
-
@Stardust , I tend to switch every now and then. I tend to use a Thinkpad. Cannot do without the Trackpoint. Currently I have an X1 Carbon 7.
I am running Windows 10 at this time. I feel very much at home on a Linux OS as well, but have kind of gotten stuck on Windows for now.
-
Linux is cool, but you have to screw a lot. Windows comes out of the box and actually does everything by itself.
For average users, Windows is easier. -
@jon interesting, thanks
One more question, what Linux distribution do you prefer? -
-
@Stardust , I do not have a strong preference at this time. There are a lot of great distros out there.
-
@Ice007 , I do not consider myself an average user.
I guess I am pretty advanced. I think the reason I have not switched so far is the switching cost. It should not be so hard to do, but there are certain applications that I use on Windows that I would need to find alternatives to. That being said, I mostly use Vivaldi for everything and I use Libre Office.

I wonder what are they, I guess some professional photo or video software...
-
@Stardust , not really. Just basic setup things that I am used to.
