First!
The new layout looks really nice, but there is a big problem with the revamped menu - press&hold no longer reloads the current tab, it does other stuff which changes depending on where the menu is (top/bottom). Reported as VAB-2389
-
I've noticed the bug:
if you run the browser and quickly tap on the bookmark icon (side panel icon) - Vivaldi crashes.
This bug's reproducible on different smartphones and tablets.
Please fix it! -
@Gwen-Dragon I've written many times but so far nothing has been corrected.
Error plays Meizu M5c, Nomi C070010 Corsa. Maybe it's because I have 2GB of RAM. -
@Gwen-Dragon No

Speed Dial List
Yes! Finally! Vivaldi becomes more usable.
But I am also waiting for the List View for the Tab List[Regression] White line underneath the address bar when tab bar is off VAB-2339
Thanks for the fix
[UI] Navigation buttons inside V-menu should also be at the bottom VAB-2202

Please add the standard android animation when you are reaching the edge of the screen (top, bottom, left and right). I see the top and bottom one but on the dark theme it is almost invisible.
Also I can't see the scroll-bar on the Speed Dial page.

I need such for Vivaldi Desktop now!
Well Lilo, it's all your fault, you know! Our friend here did warn you about this critical desktop bug:

Please fix VB-1234567 I can't use the browser otherwise !!1!:face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

I am very glad with this Vivaldi update because Firefox Beta's new Top Sites (their analog of Speed Dial) redesign becomes more unusable and its also lacks of customisation.
-
(Not sure if already on previous snapshot) Typing nicknames for bookmarks on url bar work again! nice!
-
Is it intended that I can use tab stacks in this snapshot version of Vivaldi for Android? Very lovely feature.
I hope that I don't spoil too much. -

This bug's reproducible on different smartphones and tablets.I can reproduce this on the latest Soprano build but not with this Snapshot build.

I really would love to have an option to have speed dials as in Chrome based on often (last) used pages.
-
The list view takes more space than the small dials. I’d like to see the list really compact, one line with little to no margins. Maybe just the address with hostfragment highlighting? But it shows that the small dials could be even smaller.

Could someone post a screenshot the the new speed dial layout? I don't have an Android device to look at it on, but would love to see it...

I agree. It can be a little bit more compact.
-
@luetage you should really show all three modes for comparison...
It restarted in large icon mode - which I instantly hated (uses up a lot of space and just says "google" or whatever instead of giving the desktop-style page thumbnail). And as you show, the list also takes up more space than before... so I reverted straight back to the small icon (the "old" speed dial from before).

@mossman Here's a comparison from my own phone (some bits censored for privacy concerns):
The new default large icons:
The new list:
The old default (which I promptly reverted to):

@mossman You got the defaults wrong. The big speed dials are the original default ones, after request from community the small dials were introduced just a few months ago.
