Ctrl-/ hotkey doesn’t work (selects all text)
-
(I’ve assigned it to focus the address field.)
If the
/
key is located on the alphanumeric keyboard, it acts asCtrl-a
. If it’s on the numeric-only keyboard, it works as expected (focuses the address field).Can somebody reproduce?
-
@potmeklecbohdan It works the same for both here.
Is Settings, Address Bar, Select address on activation disabled or enabled?
-
@Pesala I keep it disabled, but even if I enable it, the bug persists.
-
@potmeklecbohdan Don’t know whether related, but I messed around quite a bit with different keyboard layouts over the last months, and the
/
character is often used as replacement instead of localized characters—with sometimes unexpected results depending on your layout and your keyboard shortcut setup in Vivaldi. -
@potmeklecbohdan If I disable it, and use Ctrl+/ or F8 or Ctrl+L or Ctrl+Numpad+/ the address is still selected on activation. The only way not to select it is by using the mouse to click in the address field.
-
@luetage I use the XKB’s default
cz(coder)
which has 1st & 2nd level the same asus
—so this shouldn’t be the problem. -
@Pesala Sorry, I mean all text in the page not in the address field.
-
@potmeklecbohdan I'm intrigued, sounds similar to what I came up with in the end. Or not, the github says you need to keep altgr pressed while typing czech?
-
@luetage I need
altgr
for Czech (and a few other) characters, but obviously not for what’s inus
. -
